This game, combined with a long flight home in two months, has piqued my interest in the 3DS. I'm now about 98% sure that I'm going to buy a 3DS XL by November. I haven't owned a Nintendo handheld since the GBA SP. Zelda's are going to be a definite buy, as will Pokemon Y (or X). Any other suggestions? How often do you find yourself using your 3DS compared to other consoles? Do you reach for it when it's just as easy to pick up an Xbox or PS controller? Or is it strictly a niche purchase? I'm aware of the *new* 3DS that is coming out after the first of the year, but the timing doesn't match with what I primarily want the 3DS for.
Note that the NEW 3DS will have a built-in camera stick and NFC, and those will both work with Smash Bros.
Anyway, I play my 3DS pretty much daily for Animal Crossing and Tomodachi Life. I'm also working my way through the last Layton (Azran Legacy) and just bought the new one (vs. Phoenix Wright).
I also have a few pick-up-and-play games on there - solitaire, Picross puzzles, etc. And being able to get old NES games is fun.
I use it a lot so I'm not monopolizing the TV at home, and it's convenient to take with me, though I find it a bit uncomfortable to hold for extended periods of action games (Mario or Mario Kart).

Just starting Azran also. Let me know what you think of vs. Phoenix Wright. I am hesitating on getting that one.

I can not remember the last time a street date was so blatantly broken before. My roommate and I have been playing this about nonstop since Saturday and there was no problem getting into the online lobbies all weekend.
