PWTorch has been updating the SD! tapings going on tonight, and have revealed that Christian will be one of the draft picks, and replaces Big Show in the 6 man elimination match for the SD Title.
The other pick will be coming shortly I would imagine.
For those wondering, JBL won the six-way, Batista was the last pick, and therefore JBL is NOT champ but rather the new no. 1 contender to the World Heavyweight Title.
Cena for Batista: Champ for champ, can't argue with that even though Cena has a much higher upside. Batista is over enough that it's not like Smackdown got the noticably short end of the stick. I guess we'll now see if Batista really has the juice to carry a brand by himself outside of HHH's shadow.
Angle for Benoit: The two technical masters. Probably a wash, since even though Angle is better on the mic and is more of an established main eventer, there's always the nagging notion that he'll wake up one morning unable to move.
Carlito for Christian: Pretty even again. Two cowardly, cheating heels who are great on the mic and decent in the ring.
Orton for RVD: Smackdown gets a new main eventer, Raw gets a better worker who will spend the next year being held down. Call me a cynic, but I highly doubt that RVD will become a main eventer based on one promo at the ECW show, especially not when he's on the show with two guys (HHH and Angle) who are higher on the totem pole and have histories with him.
Big Show for Hassan/Daivari: Raw gets the definite gain here, as Hassan's gimmick is about six months away from dying out. Daivari is a good addition to the cruiserweights, however.
Overall the draft ended up being a good deal closer than it looked just a couple of days ago. Presumably the trade period will take care of a few more matters (i.e. Tomko, maybe Michelle McCool, maybe any random cruisers on Raw)
One question that just occurred to me, though.....what happens to Edge and his money in the bank title shot? Will he have to wait until WM22 to get a World title match?
(edited by Big Bad on 28.6.05 0144) "You can look the other way once, and it's no big deal, except it makes it easier for you to compromise the next time, and pretty soon that's all your doing; compromising, because that's the way you think things are done. You know those guys I busted? You think they were the bad guys? Because they weren't, they weren't bad guys, they were just like you and me. Except they compromised... Once." -- Jack Bauer
Barring any trades, the entire talent swap is thus:
Spoiler Below: Highlight text to read
John Cena (and the WWE Championship), Kurt Angle, Carlito, The Big Show and Rob Van Dam to RAW for Chris Benoit, Randy Orton, Muhammad Hassan, Christian & Batista (and the World Championship).
OR, Cena for Batista, Benoit for Angle, RVD for Orton, Hassan for Carlito and Christian for Big Show.
Well, since a moron on another site spoiled it for me, might as well put in my input...
If they DO choose to keep Tomko on Raw, Carlito is missing his "bodyguard" and Tomko would be a nice fit there. Other than that, not much left for him to do there other than maybe play out the "Goatboy" gimmick for a couple weeks.
Of course this swap of the champions now adds some pointless confusion to the tag title names, but other than that it should work out well. Not sure how good of a match JBL and Batista can pull off, but Orton never got a good feud with Batista on Raw and that should probably happen sometime in the near future.

I'd highly doubt they'd give Edge that spot. Bischoff being the heel manager that he is, will likely change it to "WWE" title. Should be simple as that. He does "call the shots" so he should have the power to do that, shouldn't he?
Jericho needed a change of scenario more than Christian did, but other than that the draft (trade permitting) worked out well for both shows.

What confusion? Raw has WWE champion Cena and World tag champs Hurricane & Rosey. Smackdown has World champion Batista and WWE tag champs MNM. It sounds weird, but it's incredibly straightforward. (Confusing was when they moved the WWE tag titles to Raw, renamed them to the World tag titles, then created new WWE tag titles.)
Interestingly, Raw now has all of the active championships whose lineages can be traced back to before the pre-Invasion WWF, and Smackdown now has all of the active championships which either originated in WCW or were created after the split.

The reason it's a question mark is that before the draft Todd Grisham or somebody pointed out that the contract only applies to Raw. Whether that means Edge has to be on Raw or the World title has to be on Raw was never explored, but the point was that the contract didn't take the draft into account.
I'm sure the writers will establish that the contract has a loophole that either allows Edge to go to Smackdown or to use his shot for the WWE title. But they ought to have him come to the ring Monday night demanding answers.
So I guess all this means that Batista is going down as one of the few people to dominate Triple H time and again and never take any payback. That's gotta be memorable considering the WWE's usual method of guys getting their win back at the closest possible opportunity (usually next week if not next segment).

I agree, and I'd even add chris benoit to that list as well. Ever since WM XX Benoit has basically cominated HHH. I thought oh look HHH got his job back during the pick your poison match. But then HHH goes and loses to Benoit in the Gold Rush Tourny, albeit with Bastista-ference.
Here's hoping Christian has a better shot at the gold on SD
#1. I think the writers are going to continue with "the whole world is against me" gimmick with Edge and have him find out that his title match contract somehow is now worthless.
#2. I like the fact that Christian is on Smackdown now, but I'm a little bummed that I won't see anymore Cena/Christian feuding.

They've got to trade Benjamin to SD now. He's already jobbed twice to Carlito, so there's no way he's getting the IC belt back. Raw's pretty stacked, so Shelton's likely to get lost in the shuffle. Send him to SD to get the US Title off Jordan, and take it from there. He'd have more chances to move up the card, plus there'd be the chance for more Benoit/Benjamin matches.
It's about f'ng time SmackDown got some decent names thrown their way...
I agree that Benjamin would make a decent addition to the ranks too, or perhaps Jericho because the show still needs another dominant heel (there's only so far they can take JBL and Orton to the top over the course of a year). Perhaps they can trade, say, Benjamin (or Jericho) and Eugene for The Dudleyz.

Agreed. They really dropped the ball with that one. Cena/Christian could have been a decent summer series, I think.

Wait a second, what WILL Tomko do? He was so awesome with Christian. Well, I sure hope that he's traded.
Heel Jericho has used a bodyguard before, so they could slide Tomko into that role. He won't be nearly as effective or legendary as Ralphus, but it gives Tomko something to do.

Why not throw Tomko into a team with Snitsky & have them be dual bodyguards for Carlito? That could be gold.
Is it safe to assume that there will be no trading between GM's done or can I still hope that Tajiri gets traded to Smackdown so he can put on some more matches with Super Crazy and Nunzio like the one I saw at One Night Stand?

Did you know there's a brand of rum called Cabana Boy. It's great cause they have all these wonderful flavors, but it's also the gayest stuff you can ever buy from a corner liquor store at 2am in th morning.
Calling Tomko and Snitsky 'Cabana Boys' almost sounds perfect...

They probably won't have Angle for the rest of the year due to his injury. They have a bunch of tapings in 10 days, maybe the final ones on Destination America, it'll be exciting to find out who's still working for TNA.
