As a longtime Canucks fan (hence the user name), I have no love for Sather, whose Oilers pummeled us through the '80s, or the Rangers, who beat us in the 1994 Stanley Cup Finals, so the disaster in Manhattan is nothing but good stuff. Unless Sather gets down to business and trades away some of his high-priced talent for some heart and desire its gonna be another early vacation for the boys in blue. The big problem, I imagine, would be trying to find trading partners who'll take on the huge salaries that the Rangers have given their 'stars'. Maybe Sather will take the tried and true New York approach to saving a season and splurge to get Kovalev by mortgaging the future (Blackburn, Lundmark, Bouchard etc)

The Canucks have a great first line, and consequently a great powerplay, but don't have enough secondary scoring to make a real move in the playoffs. Unless they get a good draw in the first round or make a trade before the deadline I worry that the boys will be out early...

It's really easy to be a hockey genius when you're coaching Gretzky, Messier, Kurri, Fuhr, Anderson, etc.
Well Mr. Burns had done it. The power plant had won it. With Rogers Clemens clucking all the while. Mike Scioscia's tragic illness made us smile. While Wade Boggs lay unconscious on the barroom tile. We're talkin'... Softball. From Maine to San Diego. Talkin'... Softball. Mattingly and Canseco. Ken Griffey's grotesquely swollen jaw. Steve Sax and his run-in with the law. We're talkin' Homer... Ozzie and the Straw.
