With such a spectacle of a press conference, the natural move is to make him a heel, but Del Rio's taken the arrogant Mexican act and turned it into an artform, so that market might be cornered.
Either way, I see this guy being more of a Del Rio success than an Ultimo Dragon failure.

I don't think he should be at Mania. If he's not going to FCW for reprogramming -- and based on all this he clearly isn't -- then the timing seems right for the post-WM debuting new guy introduction.
Apparently CMLL holds the trademark for the name Mistico (in mexico) so WWE probably decided to get away from it to make sure nobody benefits from it. Maybe also because I read somewhere that CMLL might want to introduce a Mistico II at some point.
I love the way the mask looks. Cool how it's his original design with the cat-like thingie on top of it.
Since he doesn't know English I think it'll be easier to have him be the face. Also, as he's a highflyer like Rey it's much easier to have him pop the crowd with cool spots than if he has to wrestle a heel/WWE style.

I actually got to see Mistíco wrestle LIVE at a house show down in Oaxaca about three and a half years ago (same week I saw a AAA event of which I posted pictures here). I was also the only person above 14 years of age to get a Polaroid taken with Mistíco after the show (maybe I'll throw that up on Twitter or something). Mistíco was terrific. This is the kind of thing that could get me to watch the occasional.... whatever show he ends up on.
