Just noticed them today, and I don't know how long they've been around, but I just wanted to say that they're really neat. Fun in a pointless kind of way, but really neat all the same.
Is there some method to what gets tags and what doesn't (I get the wrestling ones, but is there any reason why, say, the American Idol and 24 theads are tagged, but The Office and Amazing Race threads are not)?
Tonight I wanna ruin my life, I wanna throw it all away, In a spectacular way
Isn't that just the effort put forth by the person starting the thread? For instance, if I started a thread about the Padres, I could put a custom tag in that was the padres logo.

I just saw them as well. I know that I didn't put the Carnival avatar up for that thread. It's really a neat little feature though.
I can't really explain it - maybe it was one too many DVD threads with a thousand hyperlinks embedded in it, maybe it was one too many Amazon pointers, but right around 10/14 our Google traffic dramatically dropped, like I'm talking at least half.
