Jimi Heselden, the multi-millionaire owner of Segway Inc., which makes the famous Segway personal transport system, died Sunday in a tragic accident involving a Segway personal transport system. He plunged 80 feet into a limestone river near his home.

Heselden's net worth was estimated at around £166 million. He bought Segway Inc. last December.

Dean Kamen invented the Segway, which debuted in 2001 and took the world by storm-- though it's also provided all manner of snark bait.

I really like the mixed proportional system. Our current system is a joke (here in Alberta the Conservative party gets 60% of the votes but literally 90% of the legislature seats)
