Gee, didn't see THIS coming

The league yesterday granted the Jags a 24-hour extension. The Jags' first home game against Denver was blacked out.

The team has dropped into the bottom third in the league in revenue and there are whispers around the NFL that the Jags are the latest candidate to move to Los Angeles when a stadium eventually gets built there. That could be difficult, though. The Jags' current stadium lease runs through 2030. Then again, that's about when a stadium in LA probably will be completed.
Why does this frustrate me? Becuase Jacksonville was awarded the 30th team over Baltimore back in 1993, when damn near everybody in the process knew Baltimore had the best bid. This is the reason the Browns left Cleveland....

You know its amazing that so many people in this town love the Jags but still won't go to their games. I've been a season ticket holder since day one and there are only a handful of people that sit near me that are still ticket holders from the beginning, too. Lord only knows what its going to take to get the people to come out. I would imagine The Jaguars winning the superbowl while its in town could do that, but lets be serious, right?
In other news, Fuck Baltimore.

As a Broncos fan who made the trip to Jacksonville for the game, I was stunned at the number of empty seats for the Jaguars' home opener.

Not only was the game not a sellout -- the stadium was nowhere close to being full.

And if they can't sell their stadium out for a 3-0 team going against the Colts, I worry about the viability of their franchise.

It's hard to believe that any NFL team can't sell out opening day. The only question I have is that it being Florida was there hurricane scares going on at the time for Jacksonville?

With only 8 regular season games a year, a city should sell out especially early in the season... Later in the season you might have some excuse if your team is just gawd awful or you live up north during major snow storms, but that doesn't even count as some snow cities go to the games when the weather is really bad as a badge of honor.

smark/net attack wienerville advisory holds at ORANGE alert - High (JBL is STILL WWE champion and now smarks arch enemy HHH is the World Champion. Major red threat, but the undercard seems okay. The alert holds... for now)- 9/19

Nope, that was our weekend off from them. It was actually a pretty nice day despite what the weather channel would have you believe about us.

San Diego hasn't sold out a game yet.

All I know is I don't here the 'Duante Culpepper will revolutionize football' comments from the experts anymore. As for Carolina, John Fox is proving that defense wins.
