I know that it's an actor playing a role and all that, but to see him go from playing the head Democratic strategist in The West Wing, to speaking at the Republican Convention was kind of amazing.
His death comes after a 2-year battle with esophageal cancer.
He was great on "The West Wing" (didn't he play a Democratic strategist turned Republican -- I remember him working for the Vinick campaign in the last season) and he used to make me incredibly pissed off when he was on Bill Maher's various shows - which generally is a sign someone is either frustratingly stupid or really knows what they're talking about. Ron Silver was not stupid.

Yes. He also starred in the film Blue Steel, where he finds the gun of a rookie cop and becomes a killer.

South Park closed out the season with one of the most offensive and racist things they've done in quite a while, Cartman's "Not My Waterpark" song. But God help me, I thought it was hilarious.
