I think it is more that they dont want their bullpen coming in with the game on the line - they want the young guys to battle back.
The thing is though - the fans would rather see the pen lose it for the young guy than see a young guy give up the game and STILL blow out his arm.
I like what they are doing. Some of our pen guys are meat, which sucks for the young guys - but Eaton went down, Walker went down, etc.
Next year we will dominate!
I was ayear early though. Lee Sinins is running a contest at Baseball Immortals and you had to pick the final standings and the closest each month and at the end of the season wins stunning prizes.
I, of course, picked the Pads to win the West. Needless to say, I am now 6th from last in a pool of abut 300!

Well, injuries have taken a huge toll on the team this year. I was looking at our program from the first game of the season - the one with all of the Bios and prospects in it - and I noticed something. Of the 10 prospects featured in the back as the best of our farm leagues, nine had already come up and started - not just pinch hit or gotten their feet wet - this year.
Pete Harnicsh is freaking hilarious. When the game is on the line and the Reds need a big hit he will get a helmet and a bat and start warming up in the dugout like he is going to hit. Hilarious to see in person.
