Ward, person on the left with glasses and beard, shown here with T.R. Superstar helped bring professional wrestling back to southern West Virginia during the late 90's boon.
Ward Wilson, former wrestling promoter of Appalachia Pro Wrestling and referee for the NWA Mountain State promotion here in West Virginia refereed the second match on the card this evening. After that match he was in the locker room where he went into sudden cardiac arrest and passed away.
We were all pretty much stunned, who wouldn't be?
The card did continue but everyone was just really out of it. It was a local TV taping for the promotion. You can see more comments on the indywrestling.net board.
One of the reasons that I like the Rock so much is that he walks in the people's champ, and come win, lose, or draw, he walks out the people's champ. He understands that winning and losing aren't important in the grand scheme of things.
