Although I love my father, as a kid I always wished "Mr C" was my dad. He always knew what to say to soothe hurt feelings, he always showed care and compassion, and he handed out discipline in a loving manner. I know, it was all written for him, but his delivery and his calming voice was so effective. Such a shame that these days TV Dads are pretty much garbage, or fools. They don't make them like Mr Cunningham anymore.
