I was sitting in my mother's bedroom as she channel-surfed just a couple nights ago; we went to Larry King as Mom tends to do, and there was Tammy Faye. I commented that she looked like death warmed over, and yeah... the cancer took a lot out of her. She weighed 65 pounds when she was on Larry-- just Thursday, which, as it turns out, was only hours before her death.

I don't really know much about her, to be honest, as the scandal with her husband happened when I was only five years old. But I know my mother had a great deal of respect for Tammy Faye, so when I saw the announcement on CNN when I was at the bar tonight, I stepped outside and used my sister's cell phone to call her and break the news easily to her.

The few times I saw her on television she certainly seemed like a woman of great faith, and I'm sure she's in a better place now.
