Wow. What happened? Dwayne McDuffie, comic book and screenwriter behind Milestone Comics, Justice League, Static Shock, and the animated versions of Justice League Crisis on Two Earths and All-Star Superman, is dead.

NO!

This makes me unspeakably depressed. Justice League is probably my favorite TV show of all time, period. His stories were brilliant. I'm in the minority here, but I also enjoyed his brief JLA run. He was way too young to pass on and so, SO much brilliance just gone in the blink of an eye.

RIP

Just incredibly sad.

Tremendously sad news. Oddly, I probably know him best from his contributions on "extra material" on DC Animated Universe discs.

I was impressed that he's done so much with writing and creating. Visually, he doesn't look that old, but I can't find an age anywhere. RIP.

He was born in 1962, so maybe 48 or 49. His work on JLU was great and he was a very good interviewee when talking about the show.

Very sorry to hear this. The man penned some of the greatest cartoons I have ever seen (JLU).

RIP

It's stuff like this that makes you appreciate just how quickly things can change.

I was shocked (and pleased) to see this mentioned on Good Morning America's news ticker this morning.

That's really surprising (in a good way). I wonder if the fact that All-Star Superman came out the day he died is what got him the mention.

Nope, just said "Television and Comic Book writer Dwayne McDuffie dies at age 48" I think his trending on Twitter actually had something to do with it.

Also kind-of amazing, it was even trending on Twitter outside the US, which is almost unheard of outside of mainstream people.
