According to Yahoo (music.yahoo.com) Buck Owens has passed away.
For people like me who are fans of traditional country, this is a real tragedy since he was far more than just the host of Hee Haw. It's hard to overstate just how good he really was as both a vocalist and as a guitarist during his prime. I'll certainly be pulling out the turntable and the old Buckaroos albums tonight.
RIP Buck

A lot of the newer "country" singers could take more than a cue from his career.
RIP indeed.

I loved his chemistry with Brad Paisley, both musically and personally. I kind of wish I would have gotten more into his music when I was younger, though.
RIP, Buck. Enjoy the sunshine and glory in heaven.

A friend of mine convinced me to download a couple of their songs from their album Frankenstein Girls Will Seem Strangly Sexy and my god, these guys (and gals) beat ass. Kind of a fusion of System of a Down and Bloodhound Gang and very offensive.
