Not to rain on your parade BUT, Don't know if winning a game in early December equals losing a amazing 7 game series in the first round of the playoffs.
Let's use a wrestling analogy shall we
Leafs defeat NYI in late April = WrestleMania World Title clean pedigree finish posing for 5 minutes with JR going nuts.
NYI defeat Leafs in Early December = Weekly TV show, non-title match with tons of interference and a quick pin with it all being overshadowed by a 2 minute HLA segment that takes place right after.

Lol see the difference.
Listen, buddy, the emotion was there. Besides, I would equate it more with a clean win with minimal interference in a non-title match on weekly TV.
Look, I'm an Islander fan. I've been conditioned to be severly disappointed. Please just let me have this one!
Seemed like the Leafs were just going through the motions that game. I blame Domi-I was at the Springsteen concert in Toronto on Thurs night and he was there dancing with Nick Kypreos instead of resting.
Those orange sweaters aren't as bad in action as the pictures on the net have made them look. Not as fluorescent, anyway.
The Isles beat the Leafs in a non-title match on RAW to earn a title match next week, thanks to interference from monster heel the Bruins, who want the title for themselves.
The Playoffs = WrestleMania
'Nuff said.
Flames: 7-13-4-3
Current Coach: Al MacNeil (67) Movie Of the Week: Star Trek: Nemesis
There's a long way to go until the end of the season. I don't think that anyone in the east is a lock at this point, except maybe (MAYBE) the Bruins. Right now it looks like 5 points separates the #2 through #10 teams.
This year is going down to the wire for everyone in the East.
Everything I touch, starts to melt in my clutch........ I'm too much!

For all you Isles fans celebrating regular season wins over the Leafs, I've got two words for you: Ottawa Senators.
Excuse me?????
What??
Did you just trash my team???
What??
At least the Sens are a lock for the playoffs...Leafs...will we are not to sure!
Yeah, those noted playoff warriors, the Ottawa Senators.
The only way the Sens might go anywhere in April would be if the Leafs don't make the playoffs, because we all know what happens when those two teams square off in a best-of-seven. Unfortunately for you, from the way the Leafs (especially Ed Belfour) have looked recently, I would say that the playoffs are looking more and more realistic for God's team.
We're a generous city, though.....we always let you small town folk win in the regular season. It's good for your confidence.

I love Leaf fans. So passionate....so ignorant. On the bandwagon again huh?
This is coming from the same fan who booed Belfour only a month ago. ha!
How much wood can a wood chuck chuck, if a wood chuck could chuck wood?
Funny, I don't recall booing Belfour....as a matter of fact, I was quite pleased when the Leafs signed him after Joseph left. If you spoke to friends of mine (which you probably never will), you would know that I had come to terms with the fact that Cujo was probably gone last April, and that I was preparing for a season of Schwab or Barrasso in goal.
Please, the bandwagon thing is just getting tired. Sorry to disappoint you, but not every Maple Leafs fan is a bandwagon jumper. The < insert generic bandwagon reference here > response to every Leafs fan is the same kind of crap every Leaf hater says. Funny how the ACC sells out every last game, while the Corel Centre is less than capacity most nights.
I wonder if you'll fall off the bandwagon when your team is one day being called the Atlanta Senators.
I personally love how Leafs fan gloat about other teams bombing in the playoffs....
After all, the Leafs have been bombing in the playoffs (if they even made it that far) since 1967, so they have plenty of firsthand experince to relate with.
Of course, it's all moot because soon YOUR favorite French Canadian team and mine will launch a huge post season run after YOUR Hart Trophy winner from last year returns to form. And he will.....just wait =)

Considering what they have done to the Senators in the playoffs the last couple of years, Leaf fans should be allowed to gloat all they want to Senators fans...
They have at least made it further than the Ottawa folks.
---------- And the real wonder of the world is that we don't jump too ----------

We weren't booing Belfour we were chanting his name saying "Boofour!, Booofour!". It just took us a few months to figure out "Eddie! Eddie!" sounded better

You do know why the rest of Canada hates Toronto, right?
Go Vancouver.
(edited by Bongo P. Michinoku on 12.12.02 2342) What the hell, I'll give this a go. Vancouver: 17-8-4-0. Just one point behind Dallas, and one ahead of Detroit and Minnesota. West = Tight.

Yes, I do. The rest of Canada has a fierce inferiority complex. Not that I can blame them though, considering that the Centre of the Universe is really the only world class city this country has to offer. Unfortunate that the rest of Canada feels the need to attempt to direct attention away from where it rightly should be: Southern Ontario.
Hearing you guys argue over which Canadian city is better is, I imagine, a lot like hearing two pigs argue over what kind of manure is more fun to roll around in.
Kolzig is also out for the season, so it won't be him. I'm thinking they go with Gerber, because Joseph's been horrible this season when he has played.
