The original thread got closed, so I am starting a new one on my wife's favorite show. CSI is still my favorite, but Lost is very, very close.
Last night's episode on Sayid was outstanding. Revealing Danielle was interesting and the actress playing her (Mira Furlan from Babylon 5) was terrific in exhibiting swings from intense to insane to pathetic to strong-willed. Outstanding performance. In the notes in imdb, she is only listed as a guest on that one episode, so I am unsure where they are taking his character.
My wife has also heard that one of the main characters dies and she's going to be pissed if it's Sayid. This show seems very unpredictable in that it seems just about anything might happen.
This show is still delivering ten weeks into the season.
Supposedly Mira Furlan is going to be recurring, but not in it every week. At least that's what some website out there said.
As for the main character that's going to die, I really doubt that it's Sayed. I think it's going to be Sawyer, for no other reason that it seems they're making him likable after being such a heel for so long. I imagine he's going to have to sacrifice himself for the rest of the group (i.e. Kate).
The Golf Course idea was awesome. I was wondering how they were going to keep their sanity. Of course I think some people are going to become golf widows or golf orphans.

General wisdom is that the "Regular Guests" get added to IMDB as their episodes come along -- those characters are (currently) only shown through the next 2 episodes. There was a comment on thefuselage.com (somewhere!) by one of the VIPs about "Guest" vs. "Regular" among the survivors being more of a financial/contractural thing, & not necessarily an indication of their longevity on the island.

I think Sayid is one of the least likely to be killed off -- he's clearly got a lot of untold, interesting backstory that we've barely begun to explore yet.
Besides, just because somebody's dead, doesn't necessarily mean that they won't be on the show any more. :-)
Does anyone know how long a battery can actually last when not being used by some vehicle? Seeing Danielle with power after 16 years on that island sort of threw me for a loop. The cable extending from the beach left me with a few questions as well. Once again we are left not knowing what the hell that creature on the island is. Danielle's comment about there being no such thing as monsters didn't help in the least bit, although being there for so long she would be the expert at that point on what exactly they are dealing with. Finally, I'm not really sure where they would be going with people becoming "sick", like Danielle's Alex and Robert. I personally could have done without that being added to the island/more for them to worry about, but I'll see where it goes before I start to judge. I guess that is just more to watch out for in the upcoming shows.
I looked on imdb for the guys name to see if they said anything about the particular episode of Curb that he was on, and it was the episode where Larry bought pot for his dad. It was the "Car Pool Lane" episode which is the same thing. It was the funniest Curb episode I have seen to date. I wonder when the new season starts.
Von, you give some good reasons, but I think I would have to disagree as well, primarily because Shane has been a colossal fuck-up since the beginning.
