I think like so many of us who have read Michael's pieces over the years, even though we had never had a direct interaction, we felt like we knew him. I always enjoyed his passion, and his writing skill.
Rest in peace, Llakor.
We'll be back right after order has been restored here in the Omni Center.

He has a passion for wrestling like I used to have but lost years ago. I'm really in disbelief now.
That's how it feels for me too. I never talked with him, but Llakor is one of those names I just got used to always seeing around here.
It's a really sobering feeling. It's easy to forget sometimes that each name has a real person behind it. I feel terribly for his friends and family. This is just terrible news.
I have to echo you two guys. Despite never having actively interacted with Michael, this totally bums me out. RIP.
Holy fuck shit motherfucker shit. Read comics. Fuck shit shit fuck shit I sold out when I did my job. Fuck fuck fuck shit fuck. Sorry had to do it....

Yup, that covers me. I loved reading his work, and feeling that enthusiasm emanating from every word he wrote.

Yep, you phrased it better than I ever could. I will miss reading the work of someone who truly enjoyed what he was writing about.
Michael Ryan, a publicist for a variety of independent promotions in Quebec, passed away this past week at the age of 45. His parents didn’t see him over the weekend of 4/20, but that wasn’t unusual because he often went to Ottawa for wrestling. However, he missed a 4/21 independent show and didn’t show up for his regular job on 4/22. His boss called his parents on 4/24, and the parents called 911. It was believed his death was due to a stroke or an aneurysm. He had been suffering from diabetes as well. Ryan was involved with promotions like International Wrestling Syndicate, Inter Species Wrestling, C*4 and Battlewar. Pat Laprade also credited Ryan for the idea of creating his recent book, “Mad Dogs, Midgets and Screw Jobs: The Untold Story of How Montreal Shaped the World of Wrestling.” Ryan was originally going to co-write the book, and did some of the early writing, but bowed out in the summer of 2009 due to having other projects that took too much of his time. Kevin Steen wrote on Twitter, “Michael `Llakor’ Ryan did so much for me and my career, more than he ever knew. Never got the chance to tell him. He will be missed.”
I think it was Dutch Mantell who said that pretty much the entire revenue engine for TNA right now is Spike TV and that PPV is something they are obligated to do but would get out if they could.
