My PC is running real slow, and after the usual virus checking, cache clearing, cookie deleting binge, I think I need to just clear the registry. Any suggestions on a good, cheap (and by "cheap" I mean "free would be really nice") registry cleaner?
I've never had positive results with Windows registry cleaners. Either it made no difference or something got screwed up and I to do a system restore. It's quite a bit more work, but I'd recommend doing a backup, format, and clean install.
Lloyd: When I met Mary, I got that old fashioned romantic feeling, where I'd do anything to bone her. Harry: That's a special feeling.
I'm the type of guy who likes to make sure, so I downloaded and ran both. PC is MUCH faster, and it don't look like anything's fucked up. Thank you all kindly.
Over the weekend, I reinstalled Windows XP MCE (with SP2) on my Gateway 827GM desktop (Gateway's system recovery process involves creating 5 CD-ROMs with all of the recovery software, apps and drivers).
