The dream Adam Rose spot remains a Royal Rumble where the Rosebuds come out and catch him every time he's almost eliminated for the first half of the match. Very specifically, every time he's againt the ropes, they have to come dancing down to ringside, catch him throw him back in (yelling WOO!), then dance to the back. Every time. And they keep cutting it closer and closer, with Rose begging them to speed up, to where you assume they'll take too long and miss, but instead Rumble Entrant #15 is some world destroyer like Brock or Sheamus or Cesaro or Reigns who intercepts the Rosebuds on the way to the ring and wrecks them all OR #15 is Bad News Barrett, who observes that Rose is about to be eliminated and delivers some BAD NEWS, showing that he's locked the Rosebuds into the Exotic Express and laughs in delight as he steps over an eliminated, exasperated Adam Rose.

For MitBo, I'd have the ring cleared of everyone and everything, including the ladder. Just Bo standing there alone, looking hopefully up at the belts or bo-riefcase, and deciding that he has enough bositive energy to will himself up there. Bo-nus points if it works and now Bo Dallas can fly.

Did Randy ever justify Hunter's faith in him as the face of the company? Last night's Authority promo was only half of last year's angle: Bryan is a B+. The rest stipulated that Randy was the A-lister, the worthy champ. But he was cast in shadow by the Batista title contention at Mania, and both were thoroughly eclipsed by the Bryan contention. And he didn't get pinned to lose the belt.

Even now, Hunter doesn't hand the belt to Randy as the presumed No. 1 contender, which you'd think he'd want if Randy is the face of the company. Instead, the belt could be won by a guy whom The Authority doesn't control.

I'd rather Orton get the belt now and face the winner of the MITB match that same night. Have the ladder match first, spend the entire PPV/special/event giving promos against each other between matches, and end with the title match.

So, our options right now are: Orton, Del Rio, Sheamus, and Cesaro. I gotta think Cena and Bray somehow make it in there and that there's a workhorse like Christian (but not him) that they could throw in to make the match good.

Out of all those, I'm hoping either Cena or Bray win it and drop it to Bryan at Battleground to set up Bryan/Lesnar. Otherwise, they can just take Bryan out of the equation.

They could also just have Cesaro win the match and build to Cesaro/Lesnar proper, although that's too early for both a Cesaro title run and Lesnar to lose.

If they do a MITB briefcase match for 2014, it should happen at SummerSlam. A WrestleMania-style strong opener where the winner (Cesaro?) gets the briefcase and cashes in on the same night. That way, they can do the same angle.

I don't see them doing two MITB matches at the MITB PPV simply because they don't have the starpower for two to give the briefcase to someone they don't really want to have one. It would be Damien Sandow all over again if they did it. If Cesaro was the guy they wanted the briefcase on, then anyone else is just going to be shoehorned in there.

Unpopular opinion, but what about Sheamus as the MITB/title winner? As many have pointed out, the new champ is going to be somewhat of a lame duck if Lesnar is indeed getting the belt at Summerslam, so why not give it to a guy who's both a former champ, has been heavily protected on TV for the last several months and is guaranteed to have a super-stiff, terrific match with Lesnar? If anything, bringing back I'll Fight Ya Sheamus would go a long way towards rehabbing his character even if it does end in losing to Brock next month.

I'm honestly not keen on Bryan/Brock at the moment since it seems like Bryan needs legit time off to heal up and make sure he's 100 percent.

Big Bad's post about Sheamus made me remember something I wanted to ask -- was it just me, or did Barrett seem to have a colorful eye last night? I couldn't tell if it was the remnants of a bruise or if Sheamus "adds" to the redness of his hair for effect and some of that "addition" rubbed off on Barrett.

Well, one thing about Lesnar's title shot is that it seems as if they're thinking very short term about whatever run he may or may not end up getting.

The original plan seems to have been Lesnar beating Bryan, then losing to a Cesaro MITB cash-in. Best case scenario, Lesnar wins and then drops it at Night of Champions to someone.

I could be wrong, but given the setup with his deal, Lesnar himself is a lameduck to a lameduck with the ultimate goal of getting Cesaro over.

Of course Cena helped the Shield. Who else would?

I like the scenario where Brock holds the belt hostage UNLIKE Bryan, finding loopholes and whatever until Mania where we get Bryan/Lesnar for the belt where, much to the chagrin of the Authority, Bryan is their best bet.

Crap, forgot something else I wanted to ask -- are they advertising that Pat Patterson is coming out of the closet during Legends' House on Thursday? Is that really what that's all about?

Having watched ALL of Legends house, that's the most probable announcement. Last episode they roasted Piper (very hit or miss if you're into the whole roast thing) and afterward things got a little emotional. Pat Patterson went off about how the internet knows more about him than he does, Jimmy Hart brought up how his daughter passed, and it looks like everybody has some demons to share with the group with the exception of Piper, who's demonized himself the entire time anyway, Hillbilly Jim, who legitimately seems like the coolest guy ever, and Tony Atlas, who's been demonstrative the entire time already.

I noticed it as he was talking on the ramp before the match, so I think it was some legit bruising from earlier.

Sheamus went through a shocking streak of vulnerability in the month or so before he won the U.S. Title; he lost CLEAN to Barrett, Cesaro, and Batista. I thought it was actually refreshing; even the Payback match didn't bug me since it was a desperation small package to finish rather than the now-routine Brogue-Kick-out-of-nowhere. Too bad it seems like we're back to status quo.

Justin and Dr. Unlikely's big match spot booking is Pat Pattersonesque in its quality. Please book the entire MITB match and Royal Rumble in the near future.

Oh my God. This is amazing.

Of course you've now ruined every Royal Rumble I will ever watch because I know they will never do something as awesome as the image you've put in my head.

Sheamus has inherited Orton's booking while he was in limbo before he suddenly took to the main event again at Summerslam. The reliable guy that has long matches, almost always wins, can main event a couple of PPVs as a challenger, but isn't in the big plans for the immediate future. Basically, the uppercard gatekeeper (which is actually what the U.S. Champ should be). He continues to have good matches, I've got no problem with it.

Maybe he can even actually give the belt some credibil...okay, no, I couldn't finish that sentence and believe it. Still, hope springs eternal.

Someone suggested on Twitter that Dallas' finishing move should be a submission hold, but after locking it in, he encourages his opponent to not tap out. That's just brilliant.
