Anytime someone gets a vote of confidence it means they get fired, it seems.

Yeah, he's gone. The owner is talking about it right now with a press conference on MASN.

Considering that Billick responded to the vote of confidence by losing to the winless Dolphins the very next week, is anyone REALLY surprised?

The next question is, does Billick get another job for next year? Even though he hasn't exactly built a rep for himself as a great coach, his record was decent and he did win a Super Bowl. There are guys with much worse resumes than Billick who have gotten second and even third chances in the NFL.

No kidding. If Norv Turner got multiple chances, Billick should get at least one more.

Southern Miss is indeed 5 - 3 (4 - 0). One loss being to Nebraska, no shame there. Surprisingly they didn't give Alabama a good game this year, it seems when Alabama DOES have a good team they come very close to beating them. And UAB (don't laugh)
