If a game is rated M for violence or blood/gore only, is it really that bad? I mean, I am not buying GTA for my kid again (bad mistake, 2 Christmases ago), and I don't want to scar him for life. Are games like Hitman so violent?
Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Well, there IS a good reason for games to be rated 'M'. Unless it's something like a nipple being shown from some Japanese import that's otherwise quite family-friendly...
Personally, I think they should card people who want to buy/rent 'M' games. But then again, when I was 13, I would have been quite upset if someone didn't let me purchase Quake...

I don't think I'd want my kids playing games like Hitman or Max Payne. The violence is just over the top, and kids don't need, or have to be exposed to the violence/gore when there are plenty of other great games that don't use either of those things. Mechassualt style violence is one thing, and games like GTA/Hitman/Max Payne/Dead to Rights is something completely different.

No matter how obvious the trap, you can't complete the game unless you fall into it.
