Assuming Mizzou DT Michael Sam does get drafted this May (I've seen 3rd-round projections) or signed as a free agent, the NFL is about to have its first openly gay player.

He was the SEC's Defensive Player of the Year in 2013.

Then he jumped back up 50 spots the next night.

IOW, no one has a clue what will happen. He was already all over the draft boards, this just makes him even more hard to predict.

I hope the NFL Network broadcasts the referee field entrance tonight. Bill Simmons has a letter today from a reader (grantland.com) suggesting the refs get player-style entrances with music and PA introductions.
