Former Timberwolves and now Pistons head coach Flip Saunders, but for the grace of God,
narrowly missed being one of the victims of the 35W Bridge disaster on the first of this month when he detoured and took the 10th Avenue Bridge due to road construction.
I'll tell you... this kinda thing
really makes you think, you know? About what would have happened if I'd taken this street instead of that street, if I'd taken a few extra minutes to brush my teeth and floss instead of rushing out the door. There's just... no words to describe something like this, not only the people who were the victims of this horrible tragedy, but for the people who narrowly survived but for a decision that didn't seem important at the time.
I thought about this a lot right after 9/11, too.
