I'll be in San Diego on business next week. Are there any Wieners going to see the baseball joy that is the Tigers at the Padres? I was thinking about Wednesday night.

Let me know!

The 1984 World Series Rematch that is now the Who Is The Worst Team In Baseball Showdown. That the Padres are actually down at the Tigers level is sad.

I consider the switch from Pathetic to Loser to be a promotion.

At least we can blame injuries?

Not to mention "donkey pitchers," according to the former pitching coach.

Alright, I'll bite. I get two hits on Google for "donkey pitcher" and none for "donkey pitchers". I have no idea what you are referring to.

After Booker was fired, he said compared coaching the Padre pitching staff to training a donkey for the Derby. You can make the dinkey run it, but you aren't going to win with it.

I believe I will be unfortunate enough to be at one of the Tiger games next week. I'll be in right field, four rows from the wall. Tonight's torture?? The Brewers are in town, and I'll be there. I do believe the Helmet Shuffle game will be more entertaining.

From Tim Sullivan's column in the 5/19 UT:

"You can prepare a donkey to run in the Preakness," Booker said upon his dismissal Saturday. "But he probably won't run very well."

I believe I saw this quote run in almost every Sunday baseball notes column and maybe also in SI.

Well, that's what I get for not reading the newspaper then. Thanks ;)

Like I said, I'm looking at Wednesday night. Just checking out tickets online, I can get Row A in Section 50. I'll be aiming for that area. I'll be wearing my yellow Packers baseball jersey. Hope to run into you at the game!

Row A in 50? Damn.

That's right on the wall. I used to have row B-6 and B-7 in 50, but they took that row out and made it an isle.

I loved those seats.

Bastards.

I'll be there on Tuesday night to see the Padres honor the 1984 NL Championship team.

Just got back from the game tonight. Damn.

I probably should have known it was going to suck when I bought the tickets last night. I generally don't buy field seats behind home plate - but hey - they were available.

I can't believe we couldn't beat the Tigers.

I'm in the Loge section above third tomorrow night and in view for the Sky show on Fri.

I'm in my regular seats tonight. They fought back hard last night. Just ran out of comebacks.
