Margarito gave it everything he had. Even though he took a pounding every round he was still one big punch away from potentially knocking Pacquiao down.
Pacquiao is just a machine though. They have him down as landing 474 punches, and they weren't mostly love taps either, the guy just doesn't stop throwing and doesn't seem to tire out.
The fight could have been called in round 11 or 12. Margarito was a deadman walking. In this concussion aware society it was a little amazing that it wasn't.
Manny Pacquiao is just an awesome fighter, and I'm not sure if they are ever going to find a legit opponent for him while he is in his prime, which would be a shame for the sport and the fans.

That sounds like something that a SportsCenter anchor would say, not a learned ESPN boxing expert. Unless it was Teddy Atlas, who makes no sense anyway.

I'm not saying he's not fighting tough guys or dodging fights, but the cream of the crop isn't as creamy as it used to be. He's fighting the best he can find, but only a boxing diehard knows most of those names.
