They're just fucking with us at this point, aren't they?
EDIT: But, if this is the situation we find ourselves in, we may as well sing:
Henry Kissinger, how I'm missing ya, You're the doctor of my dreams, With your crinkly hair and your glassy stare And your Machiavellian schemes I know they say that you are very vain And short and fat and pushy, but at least you're not insane Henry Kissinger, how I'm missing ya, And wishing you were here.
Henry Kissinger, how I'm missing ya, You're so chubby, and so neat, With your funny clothes, and your squishy nose You're like a German parakeet, All right, so people say that you don't care, But you've got nicer legs than Hitler, and bigger tits than Cher, Henry Kissinger, how I'm missing ya, And wishing you were here.
(edited by OlFuzzyBastard on 27.11.02 2234) "Of course the people don't want war ...but, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament or a communist dictatorship ... voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger." ----------Hermann Goering, one of the original Nazis at his Nuremberg trial in 1946
The audacity of this appointment is actually quite awesome. Not quite as awesome as carpet-bombing a tiny Third World country like Cambodia back to the Stone Ages, but awesome none the less.
Click Here to read the always terrific Christopher Hitchen's predictable take on it.
Monty Python will always be the best. Now I gotta dig out my copy of Monty Python Sings! to see if that song is on it. It's been years since I've heard Sit On My Face come to think of it.
You put on your brave face and slip over the road, for a jar. Fixing your grin as you casually lean on the bar. Laughing too loud at the rest of the world, with the boys in the crowd. You can hide, hide, hide ... behind petrified eyes.

I hadn't recalled even thinking about Kissinger in the last 15-20 years. My first thought was, "He's still alive?".
After that I didn't think much else. I couldn't see how this would help, or hurt, anything.
He's such a polarizing figure, that whatever results they come up with, 50% will believe it, and the other 50% will holler "Bullshit!". Back to square one...
8-3 OK...road games just suck!! We'll see how next week goes...
