Well, this show was such a spectacular that it ended up that I'm starting a thread on it well over 24 hours later.

For a crowd of 70,309, it sure didn't have the feel of a big-time PPV event. They didn't really do much with the venue beyond some exterior pyro. I don't think there was a single special entrance, and with a long ramp most first folks didn't even get into the ring before the music for the second folks started. (Triple H still managed to time his water spit on the apron perfectly - what a professional!)

Typical WWE placeholder with almost all the title matches resulting in the same champions as before the match started, with the exception of hometown hero Buddy Murphy ending Cedric Alexander's long reign in a good match.

I was waiting for Ronda Rousey to turn on the Bellas after they kept deliberately not tagging her in, but when you're booked to be an unstoppable monster I suppose you can't really come in until the last 30 seconds anyway. Can I say I liked Liv Morgan more as a blonde? It doesn't really affect her wrestling, but give me one subjective comment about a woman's looks per post, please.

I slept through the big six man but I believe they at least continued the Dean Ambrose slow burn with a miscommunication spot, but no turns there...not that you'd expect one on a glorified throwaway show.

Somehow with four hours they only managed to find time for the Daniel Bryan/Miz match to be a two minute special, with the finish happening in such a way to make you think "hmm, was Charles Robinson really supposed to count three there?" but really, were they gonna eat into the true main event?

I would be Perfectly Fine if it really WERE the Last Time Ever but all signs point to Just One More in Saudi Arabia. It was an all right match, of course it became "no DQ" because can they even have one without all manner of weapons and interference? But, atypical for WWE, I felt like everything fit and had a point. Too much hugging after it was over but they had Crown Jewel seeds to plant.

Oh, and John Cena now has John Layfield hair. I guess he's acting in China so at least he and Nikki probably arrived on separate planes.

I think that's all I got. You got anything?

WWE TITLE CHANGE HISTORY

WWE CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

Former Champion: Cedric Alexander (1st reign)
New Champion: Buddy Murphy (1st reign)
Previous Reign Length: 181 days

Buddy Murphy defeated Cedric Alexander at the WWE Super Showdown to become the new Cruiserweight Champion. It's the first time the current incarnation of the Cruiserweight Title has changed hands outside of the United States, and the first time either Cruiserweight Title has won in another country since Juventud Guerrera defeated Nunzio in Sheffield, England on November 22, 2005.

Cedric Alexander's reign of 181 days began on the WrestleMania 34 pre-show when he defeated Mustafa Ali in a tournament final for the title vacated by Enzo Amore upon his termination from WWE. The length of Alexander's reign is surpassed only by Neville's first reign, which lasted 197 days and began at last year's Royal Rumble.

The longest reign in the history of either Cruiserweight Championship belongs to Gregory Helms' reign of 385 days, which lasted from Royal Rumble 2006 to No Way Out 2007.

I, uh, actually thought this was a pretty good show. Admittedly, I skipped a couple matches that I knew I wasn't going to be into (including the Bellas and the main event), but what I saw I really liked. The standout was, of course, Murphy/Alexander, which was a great continuation of what they're doing on 205 (watch 205!). However, New Day and the Bar also had yet another great match with each other, and AJ and Joe delivered a solid entry in their feud, as well. It's not a show that set the world on fire, but it was very solid for what I was looking for.

I immediately thought the same thing when she came out.

Shocked me how Cena looked with his thinned down body and new hair. He now looks like a TV sitcom Dad.

So has anyone found out yet the reason for the super short Miz/Bryan match? Was the show running long or was it a botched ending?

I thought it was a PPV-quality show. Not a stadium-type show, but I assume that was more about selling the maximum number of tickets for the "we ain't coming all the way down here again any time soon!" tour. That also applies to the quantity of "send 'em home happy" matches & match endings. But, that's all OK -- it had entertainment value, & I watched most of it. (Other than, as Tenken said, the matches I knew I wasn't going to be into.)

Re John Cena's hair: I couldn't get past him looking like JBL (twitter.com)! Whice even Cena copped to (twitter.com). Maybe he's been on miracle hair restoration remedy in China.

Re the bizarre truncation of the Miz/Bryan match: I did notice one weird thing -- immediately before that spot, you can briefly see the ref with his hand cupped over his ear, & almost looking ... skeptical? I always associate that with Vince calling an audible into the ref's earpiece, & the ref wanting to make damn sure that he understands what's being called, before he screws up something major. Then after he hits the 3-count, he goes back to his earpiece a couple of times. ("Am I fired?") I'm wondering if somebody backstage (Vince) didn't like something they saw (i.e. Looked to me like Bryan was more than just selling the ribs. While Miz is complaining to the ref about the 2 count, Bryan rolls over onto his side, which is often not a great sign.), so they called it. Additionally, having Bryan's entrance interrupt Miz's in-ring promo was weird. Add in the fun factoid that the truncation happened right past the 3:00 mark. My theory is that show was running long; HHH & Taker had the full last hour on the schedule; Daniel Bryan has legit damaged ribs; Vince decided to send them out & see how it goes, but if it isn't turning into greatness, then call it; however much of that Miz & Bryan knew going out, it'd be simpler for Vince to deal with it after the fact, than before.

I'm surprised Vince doesn't move his programming to Daytime so he would be eligible for the Daytime Emmy Awards. Afterall, Vince only cares about Soap Operas now, so why not take the fight right to them.
