Noticed allot of talk about the draft this morning. Im going to leave it as is. As was pointed out by a number of people this will allow those who want to participate in the live draft (and if you are planning to make sure to check if your network will allow it) and those who are unable or don't have time can prerank your players. (Its not always wise to go off yahoos rankings, last year they didn't bump the Ravens running back (why can't I think of his name) from the top ten when he went down for the season in camp.
The other issue I see is number of teams, as of this morning we are at 12, I’ve never played with more than that in a draft style league. Anyone have any experience with larger leagues? Should we cap it here? Or see if it fills up the 20 available slots?
The other league I am in has 16 teams. That has thrown my draft sheets into disarray because I pick 13. The larger the league, the better your research and draft has to be in order to find mid to late round gems.
#2 pick! Never picked this high before.

Jamal Lewis was the RB....
I like smaller leagues, but it doesn't matter to me whether we make this one larger. I am in so many others that are small...

I'm in, and I'm definitely for a live draft... just sometime at night. I work a 6-3 or 7-4 Mountain Time Shift every weekday, so anytime I'm not working I could work my schedule around :)

It'll be very interesting to see what plays out with a league this big; Highest I've been in is 12, as well.
A note on the live draft -- Yahoo will let you move people out of the pre-rankings, like a Jamal Lewis from last year.

Anyway we can shorten the draft? 20 guys going 15 rounds is going to take forever. Maybe shorten the draft to 12 rounds and let 3 spots be open for waiver pickups?

I'm not participating in the live draft, and I'm probably not the only one either, so the draft may not take as long as you think.
I had this thought when I read the set-up. A live draft in a 20-team league is going to take a while. If you average 1 minutes per pick, that's a 5 hour draft. That's why I'm using the auto-draft. In fact, I spent about an hour last night pre-ranking nearly 200 players, and I have about another hour to spend ranking another 200.
Personally, I don't really like your proposal because I'm not going to be there on draft day. If the picks are shortened and there's a free agent scramble after the draft, by that time any auto-draft players are going to be left with slim pickings.
I think either automating part of the draft, say, the last 5 rounds, or spreading it out over two days would be a better course of action. However, I don't know if that's possible in the Yahoo! leagues.
Of course, if I'm the only one who's auto-drafting, then I'm just being a selfish bastard.

I think there are going to be a lot of people autodrafting because of the time. Especially anyone not on the East Coast. I was planning on staying at work late for the first 5 or 6 rounds and then leaving and letting Yahoo pick the rest.
Actually, the more I think about the waiver idea the less I like it.
Maybe we should just let Yahoo autodraft for everyone?

I would have stayed in if it had been an autodraft from the beginning.....ah well - there is always next year

Last night was a fun night to be a Pats fan... Klecko was a FUCKING BEAST. It was so much fun... fumble, INT, fumble, INT... as a guy that loves defense, this is going to be a great year. I'm psyched.
