I feel the internet has let me down by not letting me know people are doing a River City Ransom sequel on Kickstarter. They have a plan! They have licensing agreement! They have a $15CDN buy in price for a game! They have people who worked on the original brand back in some vague consulting capacity!

It's Kickstarter so your money may disappear into a black hole. It's only Windows at the moment; they'll need to get a lot more money to make it to their stretch goal of Apple, much less PS4/X1 (though they do make it clear they're making plans, including selling it, outside of Kickstarter.) But they did have enough art and background that it seems about as legit as you're going to get on Kickstarter.

I rented RCR about 15 times and then played it on ROM a lot more, so it's karmic balance if my money disappears. And if not, I have a game I will like to play. The project has gone over the pledge goal so it's a go, and you have 48 hours left to throw in your money if you want to participate.

Very happy when I got an email with this video link

Just about four years later, this game is due to be released this month. I will have to reinstall Steam on a computer but I think I can handle that. Maybe someone else who's still here also bought this and also needs to know. Maybe you'll want to just buy it when it comes out, with the nuisance of having to invest up money year ago, you cheater.

We know more about Kickstarters than I did four years ago. This took forever, but actually getting a finished product seems like a small miracle. This one felt like it disappeared for a while before making quiet progress of late. The Toejam and Earl remake I went in on also is moving along the same way - years later than they said it'd be done, but popping it's head up with an update ever few months and a goal of releasing in middle of this year. They seem to be the exception: making video games today is so much harder than people expect going into this, and late is so much better than the usual default of never.

Even if both these games deliver, I'd probably be even more reluctant to put down money on a new one better knowing the odds, or at least think of more as a low odds long term bet.

Where'd you get the componet cables for $.77? I can't seem to find these. I tried to buy some yesterday, coincidentally, at a Hollywood video in Hillsboro. The guy there said "I wasn't really around for the X-box.
