Just got back from an early screening of the film. From what the reviews said I was expecting a pile of hot garbage, but I didn't think it was that bad.

It does have some plot and dialogue issues, but I thought the action scenes were fantastic. I think they could've chopped 30 minutes off the film to fix the pacing issues.

Affleck was a serviceable Batman, but Jesse Eisenberg was too over the top as Lexington Luthor for my taste. Amy Adams in a bathtub was worth my $13 for sure.

I got a chance to do an internet show about the movie. NSFW and massive spoilers. I was not a big fan of Batman as the villain wit no reason to be the villain.

Planning to go see it tomorrow. Many audience reviews I've seen online echo what you said; while BvS has its flaws, it's nowhere near as bad as the critics have made it out to be. And pretty much everyone thinks Eisenberg as Lex is the worst part of the movie. He is a pretty good actor, so does Snyder get the blame for this?

Snyder certainly gets the blame for Superman being so dour and melodramatic; any scene with him having a conversation about whether he should be Superman is less Nolan and more One Tree Hill.

My biggest problem with Eisenberg is there is a point in the movie where he should have dropped the act and stopped playing crystal meth Riddler, and that would have made Lex seem like a diabolical genius/manipulator without equal. Instead he's just kooky from start to finish.

I'm going with my dad to see it Thursday for a random matinee in the "GTX Extreme" version, which is our theatre chain's somewhat close version of IMAX. Not entirely looking forward to it, though part of that is that the 2 1/2 runtime seems daunting.

Wonder Woman was the highlight of the movie. I realize she didn't get too much screentime, but how can the writers seemingly completely nail her character and get so much wrong about the Superman and Batman characters?

Agreed. The actual setup of Luthor's plot was kind of interesting, especially the final leverage he has to actually make Superman face Batman. But Eisenberg was just awful in the role from start to finish.

George Michael weighed his options. Maeby had chastised him for not taking risks, and what would be a bigger risk than perpetuating a lie about software just to ignite the passions of a woman? Of course it would be a lie, and since Maeby wouldn't know it was a lie, he wouldn't appear to be taking a risk. Perhaps the bigger risk was to tell his father he was lying, that he came up with it because he wanted his father to leave so he could enjoy what remained of his senior year. After all, he wondered, wouldn't that be the course of action taken by an overtly sexual man, a man who owns a pair of matador pants? He had not responded now for 41 seconds according to his unfailing internal clock, and it was time to come clean.

"You're sure you want to audition for Lex Luthor? You're like 26 years old."

"Yes, and my plan is to play him just like Captain Jack Sparrow."

"You're hired."

If you haven't seen it yet, but you KNOW Bruce Wayne's parents are murdered in the Batman lore, skip the first 20 minutes. Not sure why they rehash that shit AGAIN.

Anyway, okay flick. Not good, not bad. Wished I had waited to see it on Netflix.

Didn't hate it, didn't love it. It was way too slow in the beginning and way too fast in the end and the middle just didn't tie it all together greatly. That's the pacing thing mentioned before.

I did step out for a moment to use the restroom. Did I miss when Lex found out about Superman being Clark and Martha being his mom or did I miss that altogether when Bruce was scanning Lex's encrypted files and the other Superheroes were in there.

No, one of the changes Snyder and co made for the best was the fact that the world's smartest man can figure out Clark is Superman wearing glasses and there's only one guy in Gotham rich enough to be Batman who matches his physical attributes.

But that point, when he unveils his plan, is when he should have dropped the Max Landis impersonation and revealed it was as much a ruse as bumbling Clark Kent, or whatever this universal equivalent since no aspect of Superman can be any fun, whatsoever, or Goyer/Snyder will be unable to achieve the erections they use to sexy time many women while being too busy to read a single Superman comic.

When he lays out the ultimatum he should've become less hipster and adopted some of that Clancy Brown swagger,

Saw it today. Didn't hate it. It didn't SEEM like two and a half hours, which was good.

I liked Affleck as Batman. I was "eh" about Superman. Lex Luthor was way too over the top. Seemed like they told him "Try to talk like the Joker, but do it like you're a rich kid."

Continuing the cheers for both Wonder Woman and Amy Adams, who I will watch in anything.

We get it, Batman's parents were killed with him watching. We've seen it.

Also holy crap, chill with the entire CNN team taking up seemingly half an hour of movie. I miss when movies would make up news channels. What, you actually have CNN but you have a made up newspaper?

Trailer ranking:
1- Fantastic Beasts...
2- Lego Batman (!)
3- New X-Men
4- Forgettable superhero sequel
5- Who called for a Ratchet & Clank movie in 2016?

Primarily to reinforce that Bruce's mothers name was Martha I'd imagine

But then why the mausoleum scene with the huge dream bat?

I thought the fight between Batman and Superman would end like another Zack Synder film 300. After 300 my friend and I had a discussion did Leonidas win by cutting Xerxes cheek with the spear? He said yes, he proved Xerxes wasn't a god but a man and could bleed. Now in this, Batman asks Superman "Do you Bleed?". Then he follows with "You will.". Later in the film Batman makes a Kryptonite spear. That's when the idea started to form. He cuts Superman on the cheek just like Leonidas did with Xerxes, but it doesn't end there. I wonder if this was planed or was it just coincidence.

I like when Batman threw everything at him--including the kitchen sink.

This was the only whimsical touch in a so, so, so serious movie. It desperately needed a comic relief character to lighten things up, like a Jimmy Olsen or somebody.

The final fights were good, but it just took sitting through so much exposition to get to them.

I hoped Bruce was paying homage to Dewey Cox with his sink-ripping skills.

And Jimmy Olsen was in there...he's the photographer shot in the head in the beginning of the movie on assignment with Lois. Thanks Synder!
