Vince is twenty years older now and probably twice as stubborn, and quite frankly a pretty terrible booker at this stage so I see no end in sight for this Reigns mega push.

The Owens-Ziggler and Jericho-AJ matches were definite highlights of the show though nobody in the arena though Ziggler was gonna win, and even in his home state Ziggler might have been slightly less over Owens. Jericho and Styles had some rough spots in the match and Jericho nearly killed AJ a few times but both still held it together and had the fans in the palm of their hand. Jericho kicking out of the Styles clash after AJ hits it the second time in the WWE career is ridiculous. The Styles clash in Japan was built up so strongly for two years that no one ever kicked out of it and in his first singles PPV it gets kicked out of? I'm not saying never kicked out of it but not this early. Great sell job by Jericho in the calf crusher though.

The New Day-Edge and Christian and others segment will be tough to top as the worst segment of the year and the material given was hideous. Not looking forward to New Day vs The League of Jobbers.

Reigns recovering from numerous numerous chair shots in a minute if that was something.

All in all, I'd give the ppv a slight thumbs up.

It doesn't matter that they push Reigns, because Vince knows we are all going to watch regardless. RAW still is one of the most watched cable TV shows around, despite the fall in ratings and as long as they semi-push the Indy Darlings, fans will be somewhat placated and they can push their pet projects to the top that women find 'hot' and kids take to.

Kevin Kelly: "Mr. Austin, would you like to comment on Wade Keller's Take that endorsing the XFL hurts your anti-authority character?"

Steve Austin: "Oh shit, he actually said that? I thought the boys in the back were ribbing me!"

Kelly: "No, he really said that. Did they tell you the part about you sitting in the stands, looking all skeptical?"

Austin: "AHAHAHAHAHAHA. Yeah... oh man that was too much."

Didn't that only happen because Luger got drunk and spoiled Wrestlemania?

That they didn't bother Shield-bombing Lesnar through the third announcer's table is a crime.

Nonetheless, I consider this show a creative success for two reasons:

-Ambrose, the guy thrown into the main event picture to cast doubt on the Mania title match, projects to be involved in a very high-profile Mania match against Lesnar. This is a very nice turn of events when comparing against Bryan from last year, who fell down the ladder more than he should have.

-Styles gets a convincing, clean win over Jericho and projects to be involved in a high-profile program for Mania. This is a very nice turn of events if using Tazz' first three months in WWE as a benchmark - very hot Rumble debut, followed up by midcard program that he does not win convincingly, followed up by being Just Another Victim in battle royal at Mania 2000.

Luger getting drunk and spoiling his own win is an urban myth.

On Twitter, it sounded like a lot of other folks had the same problems at the same time, so I don't think it was just me or the fact that I was consuming via Roku.

I haven't tried watching a PPV live in about a year, but every time I did try it, the streaming always went to hell during the main event. Wasn't sure if it was the Network getting overloaded or just AT&T sucking like usual, but it was a big part of why I never tried it past a free month or two.

I don't know if any of you tried to sit through Edge and Christian's show following Fastlane, but here is an interesting scene where they break into Vince's office and mess with things. McMahon comes out and addresses the two and says something that got me:

"Hey Edge good to see you. You're looking great!"
*Stares at Christian quizically*
"Do I know you?"
"Vince it's me? Christian. You said you loved me?"
"I don't care about you. Don't you read the internet?"

Vince is fully aware of what we want he just doesn't care. Those expecting it to get better than what it is currently because _____ got called up from NXT or some other company, or "wait until this guy comes back", "They gotta be building up to something with this guy/group because...they just gotta right?!" then I'm sorry my friend you got another thing coming.

I just found a way to watch NXT for free, so I'm checking out for the foreseeable future. This shit just isn't fun anymore.

Cole: "Yeah, thanks to Kane. You should buy Kane a Rolex watch for what he did for you."
Rollins: "Oh don't be silly, Kane doesn't wear watches."

If you have a copy of "The Journal of Popular Culture" from last April lying around, you'd find the above-titled article discussing the portrayal of race in World Wrestling Entertainment programming.
