I thought this was Mad Max 2 turned up to 11. There are some incredible action sequences and plenty of style and pizazz. If you liked any of the past films in any way, then you will love this.
I've been hearing that the focus of the film is mainly on Theron's character, as in Max plays a smaller role as a hero than her character does. Is this true?
Cole: "Yeah, thanks to Kane. You should buy Kane a Rolex watch for what he did for you."
Rollins: "Oh don't be silly, Kane doesn't wear watches."

Essentially, yes. The main narrative thrust is really Furiosa (Theron) getting the women to safety, and Max is essentially along for the ride. She and Max are the co-leads and each have huge moments in saving each other's hides at numerous times.
After over 13 years and 6800 posts, was finally named W of the Day on 3/21/2015. It's now all worth it!
Though really Max is still the focus and it's much like the previous movies where he stumbles into some already occurring event. A friend and I thought of him as the dog from the old Littlest Hobo show :D
I loved it. Saw it in 3D - don't waste your money on 3D.
My love for Charlize Theron grew even more after this movie. I look forward to her spin off bit also a movie more centered on Max. They can take this franchise in a few directions. I'll be there for all of them.
Life is hilariously cruel.
It ain't the six minutes... it's what happens in that six minutes.

"Ride across the salt for 160 days?"
JUST DO THE MATH PEOPLE. EARTH IS THE SAME SIZE EVEN AFTER THE APOCALYPSE.
I dunno, how far could they go in 160 days? Assuming the terrain is rough, uneven, and criss-crossed with trenches and crevasses and that there are no roads or paving at any point -- since the salt used to be the ocean -- where would they end up?

Yeah, that's what I'm assuming all the salt fields are. With no roads and no map and no clue where you're going I'm not sure 160 days is going to put you in a useful place. It's a leap of faith at best.
Eh, on the other hand, Max has probably been going in circles for years and has no idea what he's talking about.
I wanted really badly to like this movie, but i never cared about y he brides or Theron. The only thing positive i can say is, Holy Shit did the stunt coordinator ever earn his check. Amazing stunts.
This movie was so fantastic. I never expected it to live up to all the hype or my own expectations going in, but it did the series proud. The guitar player was a great touch. I'm glad I saw this in the theater, and will probably watch it every time I see it on television.
