Well.... poor Sansa. She has escaped serious harm until Season 5. Twitter is outraged because rape is not cool but the same thing happened to Daenarys when she was married to Khal Drogo. Ramsey Bolton is the new Joffrey. I hope I don't meet the actor at Comic Con. LOL

Mr. Eko from Lost showed up this episode and captured Tyrion and Ser Jorah. Poor Killer Croc reduced to trying to find a cock merchant to sell Tyrion's dwarf penis. Tyrion was able to convince him to let them live so Jorah can fight in the arena.

The Sand Snakes fought Jaime Lannister and Bronn who found Jaime's daughter and tried to take her back to King's Landing. Not very impressed with the Sand Snakes. They are all captured by the wheel chair guy's guards.

Ser Loras was on trial for being gay. Margaery lied under oath that he wasn't. Everything looked ok until Loras' squire testified against both of them so they both got arrested. Tommen just sat there like a wuss when they took his wife away. Littlefinger made it back to King's Landing and tells Cercei that Sansa is marrying Ramsey Bolton. He tells her that Stannis is going to attack Winterfell so they should just go take out whoever wins. Littlefinger wants to be the new Warden of the North, Cercei wants Sansa's head on a spike.

Arya tricks a little girl to drink the water saying it will heal her when people who drank the water seems to die. I think that impressed Jaqen H'ghar.

I doubt I'm going to keep watching GoT. Sansa's wedding night gets worse and worse as I think about it, especially when I recall that this was written and shot by the same people who turned that scene of Cersei, Jaime and Joffrey's corpse in the sept into a completely unnecessary rape.

Not necessary for plot nor for character development, and with no apparent fallout in the storyline, which makes it even more likely that someone in charge just plain gets off on this stuff. And then they went blue in the face denying all over that it even WAS a rape, after virtually every spectator (supportive of their 'creative decision' or not) interpreted it that way. Now I'm sorry I pushed aside my anger about that, because it just came roaring back tenfold.

I just read a quote from one of them using the words 'hardened woman' and 'choice'. Fuck that, seriously. How dare they? If they can literally look straight at these situations (which they CREATED ON PURPOSE in a fantasy world, so don't attempt to justify the word 'realism') and deny what's plain to any human being of ordinary sensibilities, fuck it. The actors themselves were apparently appalled to have to shoot this. What a job that must be.

I just got done listening the Star Trek Mission Log podcast where Will Wheaton was interviewed. He talked about how G.R.R. Martin wanted to buy him a drink and talk about how not to screw up his kid characters. I guess that talk didn't happen.

In the books, this is Theon's redemption. The rape is going to happen to a girl who they make people believe is Arya. Theon saves the girl and meets up with Stannis. There is also a wedding feast where things happen. Don't want to spoil if it happens if it doesn't that will suck as well since its the most interesting that happens in Book 5. Yes, we are at Book 5 with this show.

I hated it. Mainly, because Game of Thrones teaches us that if you are the worst person in the world, you win. It takes an act of God or Bond girl to kill you. Moving Tyrion and Jorah is the best move they made. The Sands Snakes vs. Jamie and Bronn was weak. Bronn is poisoned by the way. So, on top of deflowering Sansa, we get Bronn off the board as well. Good job guys. Tyrion telling Jorah about his Dad was the best acting moment.

Tommen is a bitch. Ceresi started another war with the Tyrells while Jamie is captured, her father dead and Littlefinger pushing her to war. As smart as she comes off, it would be nice to see her get blindsided by something.

I don't really see how the Sansa scene is the same as the Jamie/Cersei one. The show created the latter on their own. The Sansa one, while the players have changed, is pretty much from the book. In fact they toned it down a big notch.

As for this season, it's been pretty bad overall. Everything in Dorne sucks. The Bland Snakes are just the worst. The Dany storyline is more or less keeping the same arc, but I was bored to death by her in the books at this point so not surprisingly I'm bored of TV her now too. Really hate wasting TV time on Grey Worm and his love interest.

The stuff at the Wall has been good. And Arya, though moving slowly, is a good storyline.

Also, I don't think Bronn was poisoned, that was the Red Vipers thing.

The situation in Kings Landing has been well done overall, though I'd like to see more of Cersei's paranoia and crazy coming through.

The biggest problem this season is they've strayed from the books so much and their own writing stinks compared to George. I suspect the show will get better these last few episodes with what's coming, but if not, well then I suppose it won't be hard to just stop watching and wait for the books rather than have these guys both spoil and butcher the ending.

You didn't think that the guy who, when are first introduced to him hunts down his one mistress with his even crazier mistress, shoots her and then lets his dogs eat her alive. Ramsay is a murderer, torturer, and has broken people mentally, and keeps Theon as a housepet. You didn't really think he was going to carry Sansa into the bedroom and be a gentle lover did you? He's a psychopath.

For one GRRM based most of these families and characters off of past kingdoms and groups. Henry VIII decapitated his wives, Knights killed and ate Muslims after taking over Ma'rra during the Crusades, plantation owners raped their slaves and either sold or killed the children. History shows that men with unchallenged power were typically evil assholes. Ramsay, Joffrey, Tywin are just products of their absolute power.

Secondly I'm sure this choice to go forward with Sansa, Theon, and Ramsay was not an easy choice, nor was it done mainly to shock. What Ramsay did makes sense for a unchallenged psycho. He is not the "bad boy" with a heart of gold underneath, he's insane and irredeemable. Plus I commend them for filming it the way they did, because other than tight shots of everyone's faces, building tension, the sounds of struggle, and the score the worst thing we see is purely in our heads.

The same technique was done during the infamous Chainsaw scene in Scarface and the hammer to the head scene in Texas Chainsaw Massacre, where sound and close ups caused your mind to paint the scene for you and people's imaginations were more brutal than anything the director could of created with props. The scene angered you, it's supposed to.

The scene was toned down, sure. But replacing a minor character with a major one is a HUGE change - especially Sansa, who has more or less escaped harm up unto that very moment. And again, I think the show employs rape scenes WAY too callously and it's getting tiring. Daenerys, Cersei, and now Sansa - all of those scenes were changed from the books to either be non-consensual or involve major characters. Not to mention the aftermath of the mutiny at Craster's Keep, which ALSO didn't exist in the books....

I'm pretty much the opposite - books four and five were a chore to slog through, and I really do find Martin's writing to be fairly atrocious (these stories have no business being 800+ pages). I think the TV show is WAY better at trimming the fat and turning fairly bland source material into something far more compelling. There's just an unfortunate pattern of them being lazy with very specific topics.

Yes, this. I thought they were doing very well with tightening up the plot and paring down the huge character list. It made sense to bring in Sansa with the Boltons - but since the Jeyne Poole storyline is probably the most unreadable element in the later books and is extremely overdone even for its plot function, I also assumed that using a major POV character meant they were not going that far. Especially with Brienne around as a potential rescuer. There are so many good things HBO has done with the material that I guess I got suckered. There were all kinds of ways NOT to cross an important line.

And then it became crystal clear that they don't even see the line. Absolutely, the whole trend of this show has been to twist consensual sexuality into rape and look for places to write in extra rapes, prostitute murders, etc., when the books don't oblige, so why would they pass up such a glittering opportunity as Ramsey Bolton?

Everything they've done so far begins to sour on me in hindsight. Either the people in charge have a gigantic blind spot, or they seriously get off on this stuff. The way they keep denying in interviews that rape is even rape - that's the last straw.

Wait so all the extreme violence, the death by immolation, a man getting his skull crushed by a man's bear hands, horses getting chopped down, Jaime getting his hand chopped off, a slaughter at a banquet including a pregnant woman getting stabbed in the womb, a boy getting skewered in the throat was fine and dandy despite being fully displayed on screen? That's ok because it's just non-sexual violence, that isn't as traumatizing.

The books have way more detailed and off-putting acts of sexual violence, but the show is somehow unforgivable for frankly only implying the sexual violence rather than showing it in great detail.

In the end it doesn't matter, the show will continue to have high ratings and all the outrage from social media now will be subdued when the show deviates from the books even more when either Sansa or Arya ends up killing Ramsay next season to assuage those on a trigger response to anything involving women in peril.

I know I shouldn't be feeling this way...but, quite frankly, I'm glad that Margaery got taken down a peg. Whatever it took to wipe that smirk off her face just once. Now that it's done, I can't wait for the Faith Militant to turn on Cersei.

I am disappointed that Olenna's return to King's Landing was just so ineffective.

Myself I was disappointed they left out one of Roose's best lines from the books, when he told Ramsay, "Don't make me regret the day I raped your mother." Came off almost like a caring father instead.

At least they've turned Stannis into the awesome man that he is in the books. They couldn't have done a better job with him so far.
