Robert Lopez achieves EGOT status with his Oscar win (he previously won a Daytime Emmy for Wonder Pets, a Grammy for Avenue Q, and Tonys for Avenue Q and The Book of Mormon).
If you would have told me as few as five years ago that Matthew McConaughey would win an Academy Award for Acting, I would have bet my life savings against that happening.
That being said, he was awesome in Dallas Buyers Club. As much as I wanted Leo to win (always been a fan) he totally earned it. It was not a great movie, but he was great in it.
And I loved his acceptance speech. I am sure there are people out there who hated it, but I thought it was great.
And we got an "all right, all right, all right". What more could you ask?
Now, does he go Nicholas Cage from here or does he still try to push himself acting wise?
Life is hilariously cruel.
It ain't the six minutes... it's what happens in that six minutes.
I didn't expect Lawrence to lose Best Supporting Actress even though I thought she was bad in it. American Hustle getting shut out is weird considering it lead the nominations. Its impossible to argue against 12 Years A Slave.
The Wee Baby Sheamus.Twitter: @realjoecarfley its a bit more toned down there. A bit.

Eh, I kinda figured that would happen. When I saw how many nominations American Hustle got, it just seemed like a joke to me.
It was clearly one of those movies made to get the actors out there, but since no one was too serious and everyone was having fun with their character, they were just never going to hold up against more serious efforts like 12 Years A Slave and Dallas Buyers Club.
Pretty "Meh" Oscars. I think the right movies won for the most part. Would have loved to have seen Bruce Dern win, but knew that wasn't a realistic thing that could happen. Ellen was fine, wasn't too distracting and was even funny at times.

Oh man, gotta disagree about Ellen here. I thought she was *awful,* and actively contributed to one of the more meandering, boring shows from the last five or so years. I don't really have anything against her as such, but it seemed like she ran out of material after her opening and the rest of the time she spent going around the audience just felt like an extended Santino skit. The Selfie That Broke Twitter was pretty awesome, though. But who's the guy in the right who blocked out Angelina Jolie?!
Also awesome: Benedict Cumberbatch, who Ellen correctly introduced as having "the best name ever," photobombing Ellen's selfie with Chiwetel Ejiofor.

I agree. I thought Ellen was awful. I thought she killed the pace of an already slow show. And I do like Ellen and was looking forward to this. But man, was she bad.
