After Kick-Ass three years ago, I wanted more Kick-Ass. Kick-Ass 2 is the more Kick-Ass I wanted. It's not necessarily a better Kick-Ass than the original Kick-Ass, per se, but it's all the Kick-Ass I could have asked for.

Review with SPOILERS. (backofthehead.com)

I am glad to say that new writer-director Jeff Wadlow doesn't Schumacher it. Or Ratner it.

Is it possible to Schumacher something that was already sub-Batman Forever already?

Went to see it today wasn't as bad as I expected. Cool that they are still able to use images of Nic Cage and Mark Strong. They keep Lyndsy Fonseca (for a bit part, breaking up with Dave) but recast Todd and Marcus. I don't know how they are all cool with Todd after he basically told The MotherFucker who Kick Ass was which lead to Kick-Ass' Dad being murdered. I was expecting a swerve with Jim Carrey but there wasn't one. It's so weird to see Ser Jorah Mormont without a British accent.

And jeez, they make you sit through the entire end credits for the extra scene with the MF-er.

I thought that was weird too, but it's possible that they didn't know he did that. It should have been obvious to The MotherFucker who KickAss really was once Dave's father was arrested. In fact he pretty much says it but is too stupid or arrogant to see it himself. What really kills me is that even after the murder and the funeral scene he's still all like "No ones really gonna get hurt right?"

I found the movie to be good but muddled. The message keeps changing so many times that I got tired of it and just waited for the end sequence.

The most humorous part of the whole experience was seeing the preview for Carrie, with Chloe taking the lead there too. So the high school scenes in this movie seem tame compared with the supernatural blood to come later.

I'm looking forward to the inevitable sequel, Snakes on a Train. Or, Snakes in a Limo.
