The big just keep getting bigger.

Not entirely sure why Rogers needs ANOTHER sports channel. Persobally, I love the Score. Outside of the fact that it's the only channel in Canada to watch WWE programming, they show it more often than SciFi and USA Network in America. NXT is available through them, as well. All that's really missing is Main Event and Superstars.

The hosts are pretty good, too. Outside of the smarmy jackass Arda Ocal (who's thankfully gone from the channel), they have some great hosts who know wrestling, and whatever sport they're showing. Heck, the sarcastic voiceover during hockey clips is pretty cool.

Rogers will be rebranding THE SCORE to their Sportsnet brand on July 1st. However, they've already made their mark by eliminating the fifteen minute pre-show before RAW. Not that I'm going to complain about that.

My main question is: outside of eliminating the competition (which was the number three sports channel out of three, if you think about it) is WHY did they want to buy THE SCORE? I'm not comfortable with these huge media conglomerates getting bigger, and I'm disappointed that the CRTC didn't kibosh this like they did the Bell/Astral takeover. Rogers owns already three sports programming brands: Sportsnet (with it's East/West/Pacific/Ontario feeds), Sportsnet One, and Sportsnet World - do they REALLY need more?

I'm ranting and rambling, forgive me.

Anyhow, at least WWE programming is safe, even if the hosts may not be. I'm betting that Sophia and the crew may find themselves doing something else down the road. And that's a real pity.

HOnestly, I think they bought it for a couple of reasons, 1 being the amazing location of the Score studios. It also doesn't hurt to have another overflow channel. It also give them the ability to simelcast Fan590 stuff like Tim and Sid without affecting the core sportsnet channels

Cue Bobcat complaining about how often he is pre-empted lately on Sportsnet.
