Beer at work? Really? Cool. Immediate termination here.

As for the Smithwick's. I learned the pronunciation the hard way, too. Smithwick's and Leinie's Summer Shandy are the only two alcoholic beverages we keep in the refrigerator at camp. Well, the only two that I consume, anyway, but since I make the beer runs, I buy what I want.

I think the first unknown snack was a pita chip, and the goldfish looked like parm flavor. No idea on the tangy other than maybe something "southwest" flavored.

Golden Years will kill at karaoke. Life on Mars would be a good one too... though that one "Maaaaaaars" might be tricky.

Flashing lights is a good thing and makes me come back for more. I am very easily entertained.

Young Americans is a good karaoke song to do. There is also a karaoke version of Underground from Labyrinth. I would do Underground, Storybook Love from Princess Bride, and Together in Electric Dreams and make it a movie theme song night. When I do karaoke, I try to make the songs I do all tie in together some how.

I drink at work ALL the time!

What kind of backwoods city do you live in where you can't buy liquor on Sunday? That's just crazy.

Forget it Josh... it's Cerebustown.

It's Minneapolis, the 10th largest metro area in America, according to TV market size.

Lots of cities/states are dry on Sunday. Amazingly, (according to Wikipedia) it seems like the more "backwoods" your county/city/state is, the less regulated your liquor options are going to be.

I think it was one of the Guitar Hero games where you got an Achievement if you could nail all of the the descending "fame fame fame fame fame fame fame" part from that Bowie song whose name I can never remember.

I've had a Smithwick's Nice before, which I believe is some sort of Smithwick's and Guinness combo, like a black & tan, but I have memory issues associated with that evening and I can't find evidence of this drink online.

You've reminded me: I work as a manager at a crappy convenience store / gas station, and we've had people from Minnesota come in and be amazed that we sell hard liquor. Apparently in Minnesota hard liquor licenses are only available to dedicated liquor stores or something to that effect.

Back in the day, we had Liquor sales, but no beer, in my hometown (Corinth Mississippi). We are right on the Tennessee state line. Right across the line, they had beer sales, but no Liquor.

The trafficking across the state lines was, of course a big offense. Every few years, they'd flip flop which they allowed.

I still don't know if they sell on Sunday or not. I know they didn't for a while, then did, but who knows now.

CRZ: Now that we know where Peyton Manning is going, do you think the Packers should trade for Tebow, and make him a TE or a wildcat option QB?

Wait a minute, Minneapolis has no beer on Sunday? Even at the Metrodome for Vikings games?

BTW:

The purplish squares are dry counties.
Blue are "partially dry", and green are WET counties.
Grey means no data available.

All caught up from vacation. It was kind of like white noise in the background as I deleted emails & ignored voicemails.

I wondered about the whether the sideburns ever got trimmed too but wasn't curious enough to ask.

I always do perk my ears up a bit when you talk about cooking.

You asked my thoughts on Peyton to the Broncos. Don't hate it but I don't love it either. He will need better WR's & TE's and a better defense. Broncos gave up more than 40 five times last year including that fiasco at Lambeau. I have seen speculation that the Pack are interested in Tebow but that seems like a lot to pay for a QB that doesn't fit your starter's style of play at all.

People drink at lunch here all the time - client relations is the excuse.

and was it any surprise that the Knicks started winning once Carmelo Anthony got Mike D'Antoni fired ? Prima Donna Athletes disgust me.

Man, I downloaded that thing, and couldn't even get through half of it. I hate these mixtapes where the DJ has to make himself known through the whole damn thing, and keeps letting us know that the song that he is playing is, indeed, a remix.
