Now here's a logical step forward for this show. Unless they were in a Simpsons-style timewarp, the characters had to grow a little older, so now we have Meg turning 18 and Quagmire making the logical progression towards making her his new conquest.
If this had aired a year ago, this would have been a mess. But tonight's episode was really good. None of it dragged on and even when they tried to go the serious route at the end, they didn't overdo it. And they did it out of a reasonable character reaction and not out of a desire to be preachy. Peter's stern talk to Meg at the end was such a realistic parental reaction that I'm shocked that PETER GRIFFIN was capable of such a thing.
But the best part, again, is that this episode managed to stay FUNNY! Quagmire doing it with Peter's meatloaf, Mort's Jewish Fight Club, Spartacus, and Peter hosing down Quagmire were hilarious. The Peter-dactyl was AWESOME and didn't even rely on the normal "destroy Joe's yard" punchline that Peter's mode of transportation usually does.
And it has to be said...the Princess Bride gag is probably the funniest joke this show's had in years!
I'm glad I stuck with this show through its rough patch. It looks to have righted the ship.
It was a pretty interesting episode since it developed Peter, Quagmire, Meg and Lois. While that combination to me seem doomed to fail, it worked. The best part was Peter was right 100% and Lois was the one who was in the wrong. My favorite part was Lois revealing she is a nerd. The question is going to be if they remember this or not and I am going with yes. Something tells me this will come back in the finale or down the road.
The Wee Baby Sheamus.
Twitter: @realjoecarfley its a bit more toned down there. A bit.

I loved this because it's such a universal experience. Sitting there asking "Who?" as each new name is announced. "Every year I recognize fewer names". So true.
