OK, glad I bought it. Punk / Cena was awesome, & the non-screwjob was a perfectly fine distraction for the ending. That was excellent.

Christian winning the mindfuck game was great. Randy is good at insane lunatic, but not so much as the vanilla babyface. So that all worked out nicely.

Neither ladders match was a car wreck, so I'm pleasantly surprised (as promised). Stylistically very different, which was good. The SD one was more calm & collected, but generally well choreographed. Good job by Slater (He was getting a lot of work in.), & nice historical interactions all over. The Raw one was more frenzied (Generally good, but more likely for things to go wrong.), but also had a few more goofy spots than was really necessary. Not a bit surprised about them giving the win to ADR, & totally astonished about Daniel Bryan. (My little joke with myself was that maybe that was a late negotiating point with Punk. Give the indy guys some legit opportunities, & I promise not to set fire to your belt on youtube.)

We wouldn't otherwise speak of it, but I want to know whether Show's injury was legit. It's hard to tell, but it looked to me like Henry actually did hit the seat of the chair (Which means landing on Show's foot/ankle) with his knee, which would be bad. I thought Show was more than selling, & as they're getting out there to haul him out, it seemed like Show was more subdued, & saying things like, "I think he actually broke my foot." That'll put a dent in your downtime, having a legit broken foot.

When Swagger won MITB, it was at WrestleMania 26 when MITB was dual-branded. Since instituting the MITB PPV, with brand specific MITB matches, the ruling went down that you can only cash in on your brand's world champion.

Still can't decide which injury was more likely to be legit: Big Show's, The Miz's, or Sin Cara's? I'm leaning towards The Miz's injury, although Sin Cara did a GREAT job selling his injury, old-school twitching and all.

I can't be the only one impressed by Kofi slingshotting himself onto a ladder and sticking to it like glue. To me that was one of the best (and most underrated) spots of the night.

An incredible event, and an ending that quite frankly I didn't think WWE would have the balls to do. Woo, I have no idea what's gonna happen tomorrow night.

I'm wondering if this is the last we see of Sin Cara for a while, too, while he learns how to adapt to the WWE style.

I think The Miz's injury seemed the more legit, but it sure looked like that last-minute run-in was planned, so who knows.

Y'know, seldom do you see an event where so many heels show such guts, guile and determination. You've got CM Punk taking absolutely everything John Cena had to give him and still getting right back up. You've got The Miz doing his best Willis Reed impersonation, though he ultimately fell short of winning. And you've got Christian riling Orton up so that he'd disqualify himself, even though Christian sure didn't look like a winner when it was all said and done.

So like, one of the best PPVs of all time happened. Meltzer compared it to Canadian Stampede in terms of the unforgettable atmosphere combined with a handful of great matches. Booking, heat, in-ring, surprises. Show had it all. A show where CM Punk and Christian won world titles and Daniel Bryan won the closest thing to one. I mean, what.

Yeah, world title changing on DQ kind of stinks but for what it was I thought it was executed great. That spit looked gross.

Insane Clown Posse really seemed to enjoy the show.

It remains a shame that Ziggler wasn't on the card.

I think they were all scripted, but it's a bad idea to do stretcher jobs in both MITBs. I thought Sin Cara's would be so he could come back out and make him look tough like a real person instead of just a mysterious acrobat, but he didn't so dunno, maybe it was. Miz's fit right into the story of their match. Big Show was almost certainly supposed to do a stretcher job (cart job?) but he seemed more annoyed than anything ("what was that shit!?" or something like that) so could be.

Cena's knee tweak, though, that looked innocuous enough to be scary at first. I wonder how bad it ended up being, because it happened pretty early in the match and they kept going, and he had to do that adjusted FU base the first time he did the move, but after that he basically shook it off and was running around with ease.

Yes.

I was really concerned the crowd was going to burn itself before the main event. The crowd was so hot. Like the MPLS forecast in the banner today, it's about as hot and humid in Chicago as it'll get all year. Allstate Arena looks like someone put a 14,000 seat building in your basement (more finished than it used to be); you're uncomfortably on top of each other and there's not a lot of circulation. WWE appeared to cut out the fireworks by halfway in the show, because the smoke wasn't getting out. The packed crowd was so excited for CM Punk and the main event, somehow keeping it going all night. The pro-Cena fans were quiet until the main event, but did show up there.

My tickets were second to last row, hard camera side. Good views of everything except when people felt like standing (which was quite a bit.) I sat between a ROH fan and a girl that was such a fan, she was timing the main event. Considered asking for her hand in marriage when I saw her doing that, figured the guy she was with would be hurt and passed.

Dark Match was Santino & Koslov over the New Nexus in a non-title match; not even sure if the Nexus brought the belts with them. They're a dangling plot thread that seems to need some resolving rather soon. Cobra on Otunga, I think.

Colt Cabana turned up in the front row just before the show started and got a short chant. He went to the back briefly before the main event.

Both ladder matches were really good. I think I liked the RAW one better. The SmackDown one seemed to have too many guys where I didn't thing they actually had a change to win and couldn't get into when they went for the briefcase. I think that even played into the reaction at the end, people not cheering for Daniel Bryan to get the briefcase as much as maybe expected. He was well liked, but no one figured he'd actually win. Sin Cara's run of offense was great, Sin Cara belatedly realizing he has to go get a ladder to actually win the match was greater. There was a point where I thought Cody Rhodes was actually going to win, which means we've come along way with Cody Rhodes.

Once the medical personal thought they were out of sight, they were a lot less concerned about Sin Cara. They really needed to take about two more steps to be out of sight, though.

Women's match occurred. Pretty sure it happened. I had not been to a major promotion show since, uh, the Two Man Power Trip was just getting rolling and Jerry Lynn was on the card, so being so far away from the action not being able to actually hear the wrestlers and the ring as I might on an indy show kind of threw me for a while. That was until this match, where the crowd was helpfully quiet to allow everyone to hear everything. I guess this wasn't good? I don't recall.

The Mark Henry video package was really good. You can tell how upset SD! management is about him throwing that referee or official or whoever around, because it's now in his entrance video. (Mark's entrance video looks freshly updated, but it's interesting Christian still has a very smiley face one.) If they're really going to go strong with Henry and/or they're really writing Big Show out with a leg issue, then it was a good setup for that.

Everyone bringing a ladder to the ring to start the SD! match was great. R-Truth picking the tiny ladder was great. Everyone on a ladder, pawing at the briefcase like cats reaching for yarn was great. The big wipeout by Swagger & Kofi did not look great at all - that was the spot I most believed people got legitimately injured, especially given the twisted way Kofi seemed to land, and land on Jack. (The Miz injury looked much more like an angle.) Loved the finish, even with the ladders falling that probably were not supposed to fall.

Christian/Orton was very good, which is about fourth best on this day. Crowd was really 60/40 to start the match for Christian, happy he won, then about 80/20 for Orton in the post match brawl. The flip in fandom was amazing; Orton seemed surprised and reveled in a bit before the 2nd RKO. I like the concept of the finish - Christian bringing in a chair to start the match and offering the free shot was a good way to get the idea over, and it played off Orton's Anger Management Issues smartly - but Christian needed an actual win here. Could've been a totally cheating win, but Christian has lost every match between them so far, winning on a loophole doesn't help anyone.

Epic main event, although King was absolutely awful on commentary tonight (mainly the main) while Booker had that brilliant "Rocky in Russia" line.

Was that what Cena was doing with the pre-match shadow boxing routine? That's kind of what it seemed like.

Punk was in total face mode. I don't think he was surprised by the reaction - not the WWE, with a new shirt playing off the town flag that was sold out 75 minutes into the show - but he definitely was enjoying the moment. There were so many hints (turned eventual red herrings) about how this finish would go down - the early start seemed to indicate another long match, Colt being at ringside, Alberto all but saying he'd be out later - that just doing the simple obvious finish came off as a big surprise. We were talking about how slow the match felt early on, but that was no problem for a crowd happy to boo or cheer every headlock takedown, and it needed to be slow early to go as long as it did. So many big spots at the end.

Finish is interesting. The thing about the Johnny Ace (who I thought was Vince's lawyer) running in to order the bell rung is Cena can point out he might have won the match if he didn't have to let go of his hold, or at least he might not have walked right back in to the GTS. Vince screwed Vince.

Punk's kick on ADR was awesome, and I think roughly two thousand people patted Punk on the back during his escape. He looked like the pied piper, leading people off into wherever (hopefully an escape door for him.)

Vince started to walk off, yelled at the fans when they started chanting for CM Punk, and then got the goodbye song. John Cena just disappeared and some point. Refs helped Johnny Ace down the aisle, but Vince confronted him in front of the stage, yelled at him and KOed him while he was still being held up. Vince walked off, Ace was dragged off, and WWE said goodbye.

I am really glad I went. I realized this past week that I've seen CM Punk's first ROH match in Chicago (which was a great show) and CM Punk's last ROH match (which was a pretty good show.) I am going to keep showing up for shows where Punk is arriving or leaving!

This feels like a watershed moment. Instead of killing a hot angle out of nerves, they've run with it. I can't wait to see how this plays out over the next few weeks/months.

Another thing I didn't think of: When The Miz made his Willis Reed Comeback, hauling ass down the entrance as fast as one can while hobbling on one knee, the crowd went APESHIT for him. And then they booed Rey Mysterio when he prevented Miz from getting the briefcase! I love it; it's like it was Opposite Day or something.

A lot of Superstars' tweets had #ThankYouPunk at the end. Just saying, if you really want to do this whole Cena-heel turn and (maybe) salvage whatever is left of the Nexus angle from last year, I think Hollywood Cena would be an interesting move.

John Cena--the standard-bearer, the guy who's carried the company on his shoulders for these last few years, doing all the charities and projecting a positive image. He attempts to do the right thing for the company, its fans, and all the wrestlers in the locker room only to have them applaud his downfall.

This is all serious business.

And he's sticking by his complains after the PPV, too. I don't exactly know what happened but he doesn't have much love to John Cena.

Great PPV, though - in fact, great month for PPV's in general with Destination X and MITB. Going into it I know that Evan Bourne wouldn't have won but, darn it, he had me believing it and I think that's a pretty good sign. It was a wonderful shock when Daniel Bryan won, too, because I thought for sure that Shaemus or Kane was going to be the safe win there. Hopefully it'll lead to big things for both of them (and Del Rio too, of course!)

And what can be said about the main event? It was phenomenal - and, no disrespect to Daniels and AJ, but it definitely was so much better then the Destination X main even simply due to the emotion involved.

I just hope that they don't go for the safe route on Raw and reverse things, strip Punk of the title, and go on about their business - I'm just hoping that that finish wasn't just to send the live fans home happy. Make me happy, WWE (and CM Punk seems to have hilariously put the belt in cold storage for safe keeping).

Also, for the record, I ordered the live stream on wwe.com (since they just added Mac compatibility) and the quality was impressively good.

This was a pretty darn good show. Following are a bunch of my thoughts.

I thought the edit of the intro package of the Punk angle lamed it up a bit. In my opinion it made the angle feel more like a standard wrestling angle, not the awesome it was. For me, Vince doing the 'If you lose, you're fiiired' added nothing to the angle but it made the package as if it were pivotal.

The 'Money in the Bank' armored vehicle was annoying me by about the 3rd entrance in the Smackdown MITB match, what with the camera doing the peering round it thing for a wrestler's entrance.

At some point in the future, I'd like to see Sin Cara work with Christian. Daniel Bryan! Never thought of that. Well done YOU!

Kelly looked really nervous during her entrance.
Does the WWE still have the Women's title?
This ladies match is really quite bad. I have to assume that given this is a title match and the only Diva's match on PPV, that these two are the best womens wrestlers in the WWE at the moment? I'm sure Women's wrestling used to actually be good in the past.

Good match placement putting the big dudes on after the women. Their movements looked fast, agile and athletic by comparison. I liked Mark Henry being in the way of EMTs and making them go around him. Good heelishness and fits his angry character. If Show's injury is worked, then that was great selling!.

When Vince referred to CM Punk as the biggest ingrate ever, my automatic thought was - bigger than Ultimate Warrior?

Regarding Miz - Worked injury or not, that is no way to treat a knee! I wouldn't be surprised if he tore some meniscus at a minimum. Some great ladder spots in this match. Some I don't think I've seen before. Like others, I loved the cat batting spot. On the finish, I don't think the ladders were supposed to fall either. Rey needs to learn from this a wear more secure masks. After reading Emma's posts in the Raw/predictions thread, it seemed to me that Del Rio didn't seem to do a huge amount in the match, other than win it. So gotta agree there. I remember he did the fall standing onto a suspended ladder spot after the cat batting bit, but not much else. Maybe someone can point out ways in which he was integral, but to me he was just making up the numbers until the end game.

I really like Christian's entrance music. Sounds like 80's hair music FTW!

I still don't like Randy Orton. And while I'm not liking him, this Viper banging on the mat stuff is rubbish. Vipers do not stomp round the bush making heaps of noise in the hope of making their prey stand up. It's all dumb.

Finish was, yeah. I hope Christian's not heading for a lame duck, Rey Mysterio style run as champion. I'm glad he won, but that finish doesn't help anyone. I guess it shows he's smarter than Orton, but so, I'd wager, is a lump of wood.
On the beatdown aftermath: Why don't commentators call for fines and suspensions anymore? It struck me as strange that the Spanish Announce table didn't collapse on either RKO. Do we not do that anymore? I had thought that's why Randy came back for the second. Great face pulling by Orton on the 2nd RKO though. Playing to the crowd really well, probably the best I've seen him do in that regard. Why the disgust with the spitting? The Internet would have me believe that this has become quite popular with the sex making these days.

And what was the deal with that Ponce sign that dude was showing all night? Hereabouts referring to yourself as a 'ponce' or 'poonce' would be describing yourself as a gentleman who enjoys decorating a room with soft furnishings.

It was a small crowd, and there were no theatric entrances, but this main event feels like WrestleMania.

Yeah the commentating was really bad, especially at the start. Commentating in the WWE, and pro wrestling in general has been fundamentally broken for so long that I wonder if they would recognise it if they stumbled across it. Here's a novel idea. Call the fucking match!

During that run of STF's and AAs I was so scared Cena was going to win clean.

I found myself wondering what was the point of having Johnny Ace on TV? Is this the first time he's been shown as a character? "Executive VP of Talent Relations". Or as they're called in every other company in the world: HR Manager.

Got a good laugh out of Vince standing there like a Botany Bay mullet at the end of the show. If you had left well enough alone, you probably would have been OK and got the result you wanted. But no, you had to go and put your silly great melon in and look what happened! Ha Ha!

Great show. Great matches. Well done the 'E. Looking forward to what happens next!

Every single time Punk's face appeared the chants started. Every time the crowd got bored the chants started. Hell, Colt Cabana got multiple chants.

John Cena just disappeared and some point.

Either Cena really didn't want to take attention away at the end, or he was selling like a champ, as he crawled the entire way up the aisle to the back.

That was an amazing show to be at. Just sad I didn't get one of the Punk shirts.

I thought Money in the Bank was perfection as a pay per view experience. Top to bottom, one of the best shows I've ever seen. Worlds better than WrestleMania this year. Everything was great, and whatever wasn't great still made for great spectacle. The whole company, and I as a fan, felt galvanized last night. It feels so weird in 2011 to see a PPV end and have the overwhelming feeling of not being able to wait to watch RAW. Weird and wonderful. In Kozlov 2008-speak: "I love Double Double E" today!

I think the crowd is just tired of Rey. Being there live, Rey got booed during his entrance and multiple times in the match. My best guess is that they're sick of Rey always being played as the underdog, when he always comes out on top in the end.

I'm grateful to have been there live to see it. Best PPV I've ever been to. Such raw emotion from a passionate crowd.

I haven't ordered a PPV in close to a decade but the build up the last few weeks was so awesome I had to get this, if even just for the chance to watch some little bit of history.

Having absolutely no idea what the heck would happen made me feel like a little kid again. The crowd alone was worth the cost. That ending had me so pumped I immediately created a twitter account just to see what everyone was saying. RAW is definitely must-see tonight. I haven't been this excited for wrestling in a long long time and damn it feels FUN.

I'll add a note about this current title reign... for my money, Chris Benoit has been the most improved talker since he got the belt... you can see him getting better pretty much every week. It's like he's more confident about his talking on camera.
