Originally posted by Amos CochranI don't think Christian would just lay down in the WrestleMania ME for anyone. If DX couldn't work out a similar agreement for Survivor Series '09 I'm pretty sure all it would take by way of explanation is Christian saying "Edge is my best friend, but winning that title is my dream."
I really can only see the triple threat happening if Christian says this week that since he beat the No 1 contender, he should be the new No. 1.
That ignores ADR's Royal Rumble win and the challenge guarantee, but if they're gonna shoehorn Christian in there so late, it's not gonna be smooth.
I just think it's a bad idea. Neither Edge nor ADR should need such a boost to their angle at this late date.

I hate Triple Threat matches and I especially hate Triple Threat matches as WrestleMania World Title main events, but I love Christian. If this is the only way Christian can get a World Title shot at WrestleMania, I'm for it. And I do think the addition of Christian to Edge vs. Del Rio adds extra intrigue to the match. I'd say the positives outweigh the negatives in this case, if it happens.
Yeah, I'm not really interested in what Del Rio or Edge need or deserve at all. They've gotten and will be getting all the breaks they ever needed. I want something cool for Christian because it's unlikely he'll ever be even close to an opportunity like this.
I guess I'm just surprised WWE would consider this, not only because of Vince McMahon's well known thoughts on Christian's potential, but also becasue it fractures the audience in cheering for Edge, who isn't a really strong babyface at this point. You would think WWE would want to get as much babyface heat on Edge as possible for the big show, not do the opposite and cut at least some of his heat by putting Christian in there.
Aside from Amos dragging a rumour over here (and neglecting to provide a link so anybody could at least verify the source - and boy, I'm a big fan of THAT happening on this board), does anyone have anything approaching REAL information that this is really being thought about? Because, otherwise, a lot of time is being wasted here.

Yessir. I wouldn't have commented on it if I didn't read it here first:
"-- We were told there could be a change to a main card match over the next few days. Obviously, after Smackdown people are speculating that Christian could be added to the Edge vs. Del Rio World title match."

Well, that's....that's shit.
"People are speculating?"
"*A* main card match?"
This discussion is shit - it's fantasy booking to fill in some incredibly large blanks. It's based on third hand interpretation of second hand information. It has no basis in reality.

So...let's just put a stop to that for now.
Any other Smackdown discussion remaining?
I just read this entire thing and heard Ricky Gervais' voice in my head. We're all Karl Pinkingtons to you, aren't we?

Well, I don't laugh at you like Ricky laughs at Karl (mostly because most of you aren't nearly as entertaining) but I will confess that I HAVE incorporated "you're talking shit" into my admin vocabulary because it's just so ... spot on?

Meltzer on the LAW said that Edge/Del Rio and Christian was what was being talked about and that Vince would have to okay it at the tapings today or tomorrow. I'll still believe it when I see it; it sounds too good to be true considering ... everything.

Rejected WON tagline?
During RAW last week, they advertised E&C vs The Corre for the tag titles on SD. It's clear that they rewrote the show. And that rewrite included giving Christian a very strong win over the #1 contender for the World Title two weeks before WrestleMania. It would be a natural discussion point without Bryan's tidbit. It's speculation, but not fantasy booking. After all these years on the board, I know better than to talk fantasy booking.
Suddenly turning that title match into a 3-way makes the entire idea of having a contract signing segment a few weeks ago seem awfully silly, in retrospect.
I will say that turning the title match into a triple threat does give the main event scene a fresh set of legs. At the very least, it'll ensure that the post-WM shows won't be centered around something like...oh, I don't know...Undertaker vs. Kane.

Have they ever had a 3-way contract signing? That could make an interesting twist. Using WWE logic, couldn't the first two guys that sign the contract then beat down the third guy and run off with the contract so that he couldn't sign it?

Using that same logic couldn't Christian walk into the ring with the contract and add his name to it? That's pretty much what Austin did for the Lawler/Cole match.

It was also the DirecTV description of the show.
In other news, is there any doubt now that ShowKane is getting a tag title shot at WM?
They might win them and defend them. Barrett and Zeke are the ones who did the damage. But Show and Kane still have time to become friends with Kofi and Christian/Truth/Diesel/Booker.
