- Below is the official synopsis for WWE’s Best of the High-Flyers DVD that comes out later this year:
“Some of the most exciting moments in sports entertainment history have come through the air. High-flying Superstars have always brought fans to their feet, from “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka, the Killer Bees, the Rockers, Rey Mysterio, Billy Kidman, and more. This 3-DVD set, “Best of the High Flyers”, collects some of the greatest aerial displays in sports entertainment history. The dozens of matches in this collection represent the “Creme de la Creme” of WWE, WCW, ECW, WCCW, and more.”

Sounds like one of the better DVD's that WWE has done as of late. What do you think? Who and what matches should be on it?
I would like to see Taka Michinoku vs. Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels from Shotgun Saturday Night, Kaval vs. Bryan Danielson from FCW, RVD/Sabu vs. Hayabusa/Shinzaki from ECW, some old stuff (Rockers and Superfly sounds great) and a lot of WCW Cruiserweight action. In other words: Please don't make this "The Best of Evan Bourne and Rey Mysterio in WWE"!
They must be getting desperate if they are resorting to outright fraud to sell a DVD. Luring people into thinking they are getting a DVD centered around Greg Gagne (with Jim Brunzell tagging along as well) and getting this instead? Notice they had to throw the Killer Bees in so they could put one half of the High Flyers in Brunzell in in order to prevent the sundry lawsuits that would have occurred for the fraudulent nature of this production. For shame. For shame.
Who ever thought that Billy Kidman's name would appear in the official synopsis for a WWE DVD? I wonder if they'll include an extra that demonstrates how good Evan Bourne is by showing all the times Kidman (and Brock) fucked up the Shooting Star Press.
Also, I wonder if they'll be able to find any footage of John Morrison successfully hitting Starship Pain? And what's the over/under on a Hornswoggle match being included?
As for the older stuff, I can't imagine too very much of it is going to be very entertaining, other than hearing Gorilla Monsoon go crazy for a top rope cross body splash. I assume they'll be some good WCW cruiserweight matches involved, though.
It would be interesting to see a Making Of featurette for one of these DVDs. I wonder if they actually have a big database with every match/angle/etc tagged so that they can bring up a big list of, say, every cruiserweight match in the library? I'm guessing that assembling footage for these DVDs is one of those jobs where the person doing it never really feels like they're working.
Man, FINALLY we're going to get to see Chris Benoit's headbutt from the top of the cage from that WCW tag title tourney match with Malenko against Brian Adams & Horace which was buried on that last THUNDER before SuperBrawl IX-- oh, wait, probably not, no.
ALTHOUGH....that's about as likely to be included in the set as 90% of the stuff Tyler Durden listed, actually. ;-)
Ha-ha! Actually, that WCW tag-team title tourney was awesome. I was so pissed when Hennig and Windham cheated to win in the final.

I guess that works and keeps the illusion of the Brand Extension in place, but that is really going to piss off all of those Heat and Velocity fans who won't be able to watch the shows of their favorite brand exteinsion in their respective timeslots.
