What the fuck?! Buried late on Friday night is this news that's pretty damned shocking considering what happened on Monday.

I sense a work. He renamed his Twitter to @bryandanielson, so who the hell knows. I'm not the only one... (copypasta from another forum)

Very weird.

I would like to say that it is a work, but I am really not sure.

Maybe spitting in Cena's face did him in?

The main reason why I don't think it's a work is because Daniel Bryan is "not under WWE contract" in storyline. None of the NXT guys are except Wade Barrett. That was what they were competing in NXT for.

If it were an angle, it should be Wade Barrett released.

Speaking of Twitter (twitter.com)...

He posted that at about 9:15 PM. Dunno how that relates to when WWE posted their story, but I'm guessing it'll be a situation where he goes back to Bryan Danielson in WWE.

Of course, I reserve the right to be wrong. Best to let this play out first.

Well, the text of the post reads:

"WWE has come to terms on the release of NXT first season rookie Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson) as of today June 11, 2010. We wish Daniel Bryan the best in all future endeavors."

Sounds like they fired Daniel Bryan and Bryan Danielson.

I think he's fired for reals. But we'll see...

Bryan Danielson, formerly Daniel Bryan and for about two minutes Bryan Danielson in WWE, appears to be Danielson again.

His WWE twitter name was just changed to Bryan Danielson and he mentioned it, saying "the winds of change are stirring."

WWE then announced Daniel Bryan had been future endeavored, which would be the first time they've used their web site to do a fake firing.

So they're either wrecked the angle from the getgo or they've confused the shit out of everyone. Good...going...?

This could mean several things;

- If this is a work it could be because he has now attacked Cole and Chimmel, which means they could go with the loose cannon angle if they so choose.

- If this is a work, it could present him as an outcast even more.

- If this is a work, it could be a means for him to Take a Level in Badass by reclaiming his name back (which they sorta did before), and to further separate Season 1 from Season 2.

Also, doesn't a certain current WWE announcer who had issues with "Daniel Byran" have a heavy presence on WWE.com (Cole)?

EDIT: Apparently a couple of days ago Daniel Bryan played a big role in the continuation of this storyline in FCW.
Click Here (rajah.com) to see the whole article.

Could enough have changed for him to really REALLY been released over the course of a day or two? Or maybe like I said before that this, along with the name change, is their way of differing him from the other people with "fake" names?

Well...

1. http://www.wwe.com/superstars/wwenxt/seasonone/danielbryan/ still goes somewhere

2. @WWENXT is still following him. (EDIT: And vice versa!)

Of course, as has been said, people may work a bit slower on a Friday night...

Thing is, 99% of the time someone has been future endeavored on wwe.com, it isn't questioned. But Daniel Bryan is. Yeah, the NXT angle just started. Others have been fired in the middle of angles before. Hell, Carlito was just fired while he was still a Pro on NXT.

In a weird way, I hope it's not a work. I'd like to believe wwe.com's credibility when they say someone has been released from the company.

There is no way that this is real, but the fact that it's even up for debate is...something I guess.

The much preferred method would have been to have links to Cena's superstar page re-route to a random NXT1 member as if the site was haxx0rd.

It's difficult to believe given the timing that it could possibly be legitimate. The idea they would work Donna Goldsmith and Michelle Wilson on a wrestling angle is also hard to fathom, and we've already seen examples of companies trying to work its employees and they are never good in the long-run".

Is this where we start the "TNA should use him!!" posts if this is true (which I'm pretty sure it is)?

Kevin Kelly: "Mr. Austin, would you like to comment on Wade Keller's Take that endorsing the XFL hurts your anti-authority character?"

Steve Austin: "Oh shit, he actually said that? I thought the boys in the back were ribbing me!"

Kelly: "No, he really said that. Did they tell you the part about you sitting in the stands, looking all skeptical?"

Austin: "AHAHAHAHAHAHA. Yeah... oh man that was too much."

This whole angle is starting way too oddly. I very much doubt that Bryan has been released legit, cause they have no reason to do it. He just got started in the company a few weeks ago and he had the only major fued on NXT. This is probably an elaborate WORKED part of the NXT rebellion angle.

I think it's true. They made it clear that Bryan Danielson himself was gone. WWE has never used their site to do fake firings. It makes you wonder what happened to cause it because of his push.

I've decided on the wait-and-see approach to this*, but I've got to point out that your statement isn't correct. He could have failed a test and refused rehab. He could have asked for his release. He could have shown his balls to Stephanie. There are many things that can happen to cause someone to get released that are not planned.

*Of course, my hope is work.
