Welp, so much for Iowa. And Notre Dame. And Penn State. And Oregon.
Kirk, crackers are a family food. Happy families. Maybe single people eat crackers, we don't know. Frankly, we don't want to know. It's a market we can do without.
LSU looked like they were going to bring some insanity back to college football for 3 quarters. Irony on the soon to be departed coach of Notre Dame: He came in with everyone believing he could coach but he couldn't recruit. Turned out to be the opposite. Michigan really quit on the season after the loss at Michigan State. Wasn't long ago that 9-3 was a down year at the Big House. Oklahoma is now officially the bust team of the year.

Right up to the point of the horrible job the refs did on that interception that was ruled incomplete. SEC refs are really setting a new standard for stupid this season.
I'll give OU a sorta pass since Bradford is out. But still, Nebraska really isn't very good. OU with a backup QB should beat them.
Stanford? 51 points?
Ponder out for season, now go beat Wake and Florida, E.J.
No implications for the BCS, but K-State is leading the Big 12 North and 4-2 in the Big 12. Snyder has done an amazing job with what was condsidered mediocore talent at best. Not a main line story but still fascinating.
Georgia Tech is definitely starting to sneak up on the BCS. They were ranked 9th or 10th and will be up a few more spots now, possibly to 6th. I don't think they'll be good enough to make it to the national title, but stranger things have happened. Watching Duke get totally shut down by UNC yesterday made me change my mind on Duke beating GT next week. Georgia shouldn't be much of an issue. I expect BC to get to the ACC title game, and GT would destroy them.
As for another 1-loss team you have to keep in mind, the goddamn Pittsburgh Panthers. They were ranked 13th last week, and assuming they can beat Cincy and WVU, they'd have to be up there in the mix at the end especially with some upsets. I can't believe NC State is the only thing keeping them from being in the top 5 right now. NC State sucks.
Oregon losing really hurts Boise, and especially the way Oregon lost. Despite the fact every other team in college football outside the top 3 seemingly doesn't want to win (what else is new though), I would think USC gets a BCS bid over Boise at this point. At least ND is out of the mix.
I feel smart for picking Ohio State in the Rose Bowl. I had a feeling NW and Ohio State would both beat Iowa, and I'm halfway there to being right for once.
I also have money on Cincy being undefeated all regular season, and I also said if they got by UConn they'd win out, and they got by UConn. UConn and Wake are the best losing teams in college football and I hope both teams can get to a bowl because they deserve it.
My new top 5 and BCS projections: 1. Alabama 2. Texas 3. Florida 4. Cincinnati 5. TCU
Orange - Penn State vs Georgia Tech Sugar - Florida vs USC Rose - Ohio State vs Oregon State (when's the last time the Beavers made the Rose Bowl anyways, 1940?) Fiesta - TCU vs Cincinnati MNC - Alabama vs Texas
(Although I think UF/UC and TCU/USC would be a million times cooler, it just doesn't seem realistic)

It does have implications for the BCS because Kansas State seemingly never loses to Texas, so that's an intriguing scenario of K State and Texas meet in the Big 12 Title.. KSU would probably need to beat Nebraska though, and Nebraska's defense is pretty good.

If you're using Oregon as the litmus test, then how would USC get the nod over Boise State given that USC got killed by the Ducks but BSU beat them?

If Texas somehow loses to Kansas State, they shouldn't even be in the BCS bowls. If they can't even win the gong show that is the Big 12 this year, cut 'em.

1. Because the BCS isn't fair and because playing 'they beat team A who whooped team B so they would beat team B' is retarded and has been proven wrong about 300 times this season alone. Would you give a BCS bid to Boise or TCU, because both teams probably aren't getting bids.
2. Agreed.
Actually, another team to keep an eye on is Utah. Ranked highly in BCS with a loss to Oregon (go figure) and if they beat TCU, then THEY'D be a top 12 BCS team also.
Notre Dame is going to be lucky to finish 2-1 upcoming schedule of going t Pitt and Stanford. I would expect even a 8-4 or 7-5 Notre Dame to get into a New Year's eve bowl. Charlie is officially fired. Clausen will be gone for the draft and not pull a Sam Bradford. ND will hire Gruden or Shannahan. The SEC has gone beyond missing calls to downright cheating for Bama and Florida. I think that bug caught the Big East with UConn getting screwed a few plays themselves. I don't expect Cincinnati to run the table, so it will be down to the SEC and Big 12 games. I fully expect Florida/Texas to meet while Boise St or TCU is shut out of the BCS. The only fly in the ointment is Bobby Bowden playing for his career at the end of the season.

I'm hoping they write the big check to send Charlie far away. However, I don't get the NFL route again. Midwestern rooted head coach has been the only successful way for the past half century, so that should be the focus.

Who's Clemson going to lose to?

Nah, I know the Maryland game is there as well, but I was more suggesting it's hopeless to expect FSU to beat Wake or UF with a backup QB and no defense. They could very well lose to Maryland too, but I don't see that as being a lost cause like the other two.
Florida State's season is definitely a lost cause. They will not beat Wake nor Florida, so the Maryland game won't even matter really. Unless they play with balls of fire like last year, but I am hoping they won't.
Clemson has NC State and Virginia, they'll lose at least one. Why? Because it's the ACC. We should know better by now.
