Rey Mysterio def. Dolph Ziggler. Good match to start - very fast paced. Rey wins after the 619.

MVP def. Jagger Swagger. Not bad but not very long. MVP wins after the playmaker.

Kane def. Khali. Slow and sloppy but the end was pretty tight with Kane delivering a nice DDT.

Jerishow def. Cryme Tyme. Good match with JTG becoming my favorite guy to watch in the tag division. JTG survives the Walls of Jericho only to be punched in the head and knocked cold by the Big Show from the outside.

Christian def. William Regal with the Killswitch in about a five-second match. Regal didn't even get his robe off which we'll credit for the botched move. Christian receives a mammoth beatdown at the end by Zeke and Kozlov.

DX def. Priceless after Sweet Chin Music from HBK to Rhodes. Good all-around match with an entertaining if not somewhat cheesy entrance for DX.

Orton def. Cena. Very anti-Cena audience in LA. Not sure what happened at the end of this one. There was fan interfenence which broke up Cena's submission hold on Orton. It looked like Chavo, but he attacked the REF and was quickly mauled by security. It looked like a work because the cameras never panned away, but was it? Still not sure. Great action in the match and a pretty awkward screw-up by Lillan after Orton got deliberately DQ-ed. Then he got counted out but both times the match was restarted. Then the fan interference, then Orton hit the RKO first on the ropes then in the ring to pin Cena.

Punk def. Hardy. I had to look away several times on this one as it featured several brutal spots. Jeff's swanton off the GIANT LADDER was just crazy. Great match with Punk winning after knocking Jeff off the ladder one last time. Lights flicker as CM stands over the fallen Hardy. Then the lights are out, Taker's music hits, the lights are on, and we find Taker replacing Hardy on the mat much to the surprise of Punk. Chokeslam - end show.

Wow - not sure what to make of the Orton/Cena match and the TLC match was outstanding. The rest was pretty solid save for the Monster Mash and the ECW match.

In the post-match video recap of the overbook-o-rama that was Cena/Orton, they didn't show the "fan" run-in, so we assumed it was not scripted.

Looked to us like Orton and Cena both got as far away from that as possible so as not to break character (it didn't work), but stick around to get back to the scheduled "finish."

Weird match made bad by the overbooking and Lillian screwing up at just about every turn during the craziness. We assumed the "fan" was truly speaking for the fans and registering his outrage at the ref bump/count out/dusty finish that was going on. Of course, I in no way condone doing that, but it was pretty bad.

Rest of the show was cool and Hardy/Punk was just *brutal* in a good way. Not sure how Punk and Undertaker will mesh as I don't recall seeing that match-up before (which means it happened last week!).

All that pomp and circumstance and expense just to hype a new DX shirt with a tank on it (are penis metaphors child friendly?). And boy was I THRILLED to spend my money on 6 seconds of Christian/Regal and 15 minutes or more of a bunch of B grade celebrity ass kissing.

WWE.com is chalking Orton's victory up to the fan's distraction (even including a picture of it), so I'm saying work.

But in the end, he didn't need to; a crazed fan jumped in the ring and gave the viper his moment to strike Cena down.

Realizing he must face Cena were he to keep his precious gold, Orton reluctantly climbed into the ring. After the two engaged one another, Cena appeared mere seconds from victory when an overzealous member of the WWE Universe charged the ring and accosted the referee. As security swarmed, The Viper took advantage of the distraction, quickly confronting Cena and administering a devastating RKO to pin his foe for the win.

Could it have been The Miz? Didn't he hint about some surprises this weekend? They did show him twice, once on the ground after security got to him, and once being hauled out, so I say "work" too.

I'm SO disappointed that Matt Hardy didn't come in during the main event and turn on Jeff. I was ready to give him the Owen Hart trophy for Best Brother-on-Brother Heel Turn, but it never came.

That would've been terrible!

I really liked the show overall even if it would've been nice to swap around some things. Rey/Zig, DX/Legacy, and Punk/Jeff were all strong enough to make the show. The IC match was world's better than their first try last month.

Tag titles weren't bad either. JERICHO IS SINGING HIS MUSIC. Is he also singing Big Show lyrics in there? I truly truly hope so.

DX couldn't lose in Shawn's return match so they gave Legacy quite a bit; it was surreal to see the Spirit Squad-squashing, gauntlet-crushing DX on their heels so much.

Punk/Jeff didn't have quite as much sick innovation as the Edge/Jeff ladder match, but there were some things like the superplex that I'd never seen before. And the UT thing was well-done.

Remember what happened in the ECW Title match at last year's SummerSlam?

Poor Lilian is a high school senior blowing off her last class. It's kind of charming how she went out the same way she came in.

Yep, I have just been reading that the guy was Brett DiBiase. Question now is are we more disappointed that it wasn't a fan or that we may get more Legacy stuff to come.

If anyone isn't sick to death now of Orton vs Cena no doubt there's another helping for Breaking Point.

I was just following recaps online and at one point when the fan stuff happened wrestlezone went offline. Not sure if it means anything just kind of funny. I guess the first SummerSlam I haven't ordered in eight years turns out to be pretty good. Taker and Cena being in possible title matches with winning via submission is going to be interesting, but not interesting in a good way. I also have to agree with DX in the PG format. It makes little sense with all the dick jokes to be placed into this format, especially when their merchandise is already being pulled from the WWE website.

I expect an heel turn for Shawn or HHH after Survivor Series to lead to a blow off match at Mania. Smackdown will hopefully still continue to deliver the goods now that Jeff is gone and Taker is in. Maybe a Taker/Kane one last time feud could be really fun to run for awhile.

While assuming the fan run in was NOT a work while watching the show live, Orton-Cena was the best train wreck since Brock-Goldberg.

The main event was great, as they pulled out all the stops on what may be Jeff's last match. Possible MOTYC.

You mean this merchandise? (wweshop.com)

Unless I'm missing something, the report about it being pulled was, ahem, premature.

It's really pretty mild innuendo and, in the grand scheme of things, is hardly going to hurt them with their target demo or piss off too many parents.

I'm fairly sure it'll end up annoying me, but I'm absolutely certain the DX return will make them a healthy chunk of cash.

I thought it was a solid PPV. The worst matches were Kane and Khali and I would have to say Regal and Christian (easy pay day for them though).

I was looking forward to a Regal and Christian match and not a 5 second match which had Zeke and Koslov take turns doing their finishing maneuvers.

Both tag matches were pretty good but going towards DX vs. Legacy, the end of the match was kinda bad because HBK didn't come close to hitting his Sweet Chin Music when he finished the match (some of that may be ring rust though).

Orton vs. Cena was a good match as well. The fan run-in was odd and as it pointed out, it could have been The Miz. John Cena will win the belt when we get to the all submissions PPV (oh joy).

The CM Punk vs. Jeff Hardy match was nothing short of a really good match. Each match that Punk and Hardy have had is definitely the kind of matches that I look forward to seeing each and every time. The ending was pretty good as The Undertaker made his first return shortly after WrestleMania. The expression on Punk's face was priceless when he looked down as it was like "Oh S***!"

I do like Punk and have always been a fan of 'Taker but in my eyes, it doesn't have a whole lot of logic for Punk to be feuding with Taker especially when Punk just won the title (hopefully he will keep this belt on for a few months 'till Undertaker inevitably gets the title).

Undertaker has feuded with Orton (Legend Killer), big guys who try to take out the dead man and keep him dead, but where is Punk? It is usually someone starts something with 'Taker but not this time as he made the first move on Punk at SummerSlam.

Like I said, a solid PPV with Hardy and Punk stealing the show with a 5 star match.

I will be very amused if they use the logic that all the things Punk rails against -- booze, drugs, pills, etc. -- are things that bring man closer to death, so The Dead Man doesn't want the abuse of those things ended. The DX entrance has nothing on Apollo Creed's entrance in Rocky IV.

I actually liked the Tag Title match better than the DX/Legacy tag match. Dolph vs Rey was high quality, but the TLC match was just all kinds of fun.

It was great to see Hardy bring back the old school Attitude Era insane style. I don't know how he avoids serious injury during those falls, but he did and his slaughter of CM Punk on the announce table was side I wouldn't mind Jeff showing more often. A lot of ladder matches seem to bog down, but this one had a nice even flow to it.

The WWE gave these guys a main event slot on one of the big four PPVs and they didn't disappoint.

Or...it could just be that Taker's back, and targeting the champion, whoever that may be. That's the vibe I got.

Hmm what you say of it only being youth sizes is true, but the first few reports Google offers seem to all say:

"The new D-Generation X t-shirt that WWE recently released features the slogan "World's Biggest Member" on the back........Apparently the t-shirt caused some kind of reaction, as the shirt has already been pulled off the WWE merchandise website page."

Which suggests all sizes. Just withdrawing kids' sizes means at worst they decided to pull a risque product aimed solely for small folks. Withdrawing them all would suggest they decided the whole level of humour wasn't right for a predominently PG programme which would be a much bigger issue.

Of course maybe the folks at wweshop.com screwed up and it was never meant to be available. Or maybe it was all part of a 'hilarious' yet unsuccessful attempt by DX to generate some "World's Biggest Member Pulled" headlines. Would it have been *that* difficult for one of these sites to have called WWE marketing for comment in between pressing "CTRL + C" and "CTRL + V"? Bah.

Anyway. DX. Very annoying, but they'll make money off it.

Just saw it. I really liked the show. For something that looked incredibly weak on paper it turned out to be, I would say, a very-good to occasionally great production. Little things like match placement and length gave it a big time pay-per-view feel. It is hard to imagine that this show was booked by the same company that produces RAW every week.

Loved the opener. Is the IC title physically bigger than it used to be? It seems that middle plate is taller than it once was, but about the same length-wise. Or maybe it just looks bigger because it's on Rey. You cannot ask for a better talent to open your show the Rey Rey, though, he is over, energetic and gets the crowd started. I am also glad they didn't put Ziggler over, because he isn't ready and is only getting better and better by virtue of an extended program with one of the best ever. Also, he has a stupid name.

MVP and Swagger had no chemistry whatsoever. I hope that feud is over and they do something with MVP now.

Kane and Khali was mercifully short. Liked the ending. Do NOT like the prospect of more matches between these two. Shocked the crowd didn't shit on this more, actually.

I know the card was stacked and all, but I coulda used a hell of a lot more pre/post-match interviews. In front of a Summerslam logo.

Jerishow and Cryme Tyme was okay. Not really good enough for the amount of hype it got. Like the new mashup song. I wonder what Big Show had to get off his chest? Titties, perhaps? Bwhahaha, cuz heeze fat!

Regal and Christian: On a stacked card with a regular two and some-odd hour allotment, you knew they were bound to have at least one Bundy/S.D. Jones calibre match, and like it or not, of what they had booked, this was really the one to do it with. That ECW belt looks shittier every time I see it, by the way. It now is about as attractive as a summer camp crafts project you have to pretend to like because your kid made it. And probably has about the same retail value.

dX and Priceless had a really good tag match. They could have gotten the women's match on the show if dX's homoerotic entrance wasn't seventeen minutes long. I love how I, a grown man, can't hear the word "ass" or see blood anymore on my wrestling, but Hunter can straddle a tank cannon and pretend it's his dick while I am told how entertaining that is supposed to be. That aside, Priceless controlled it and got a lot of what they needed; Cole and Lawler really drove that point home without overdoing it. Shawn definitely needs to turn. He looks kinda messed up now. What's up with that googly eye? Is that recent?

Re: the Cena/Orton overbook fest, yes, it was overbooked, but if you listen to the reactions, Cena was shit on gradually less. Ultimately though, it made him look like a complete dumbass that couldn't find his ass with two hands. You are not getting sympathy on your #1 babyface who already has quite the reputation as being the company's boy by giving him seven chances in a row and still not having him pull it off. As wonky as it was, it still had nine times the heat of that turd Orton and Hunter stunk out Wrestlemania with, so I stand by Cena being one of the best workers they've got.

Hardy and Punk delivered in their main event, but heck, they did that at Night of Champions without all the toys. Punk is easily the best heel in the business. I wanted to see Jeff retain and then maybe drop it on Smackdown to a wider audience, especially with the heat Punk has had on him all these weeks, but it was not to be. The Taker trick was old-school, like some '96 stuff, and I liked it. He best not win the title, however, as he is too injury prone, too much of a gimmick, and simply doesn't need it.

If this is it for Jeff, he had a nice little run there. I will give him credit. Very few in wrestling walk away from a main event spot and main event money, regardless of whether or not they need to. If he is the exception, and that is part of what he needs to avoid his personal issues coming again into play, gotta respect him.

Is it safe to say that Jeff Hardy is the Most Improved Wrestler of 2009? We've tasted his main event potential at times, and have been teased by him over and over, but this year he finally put it all together. He's probably even the WWE wrestler of the year. I'm glad he's taking time off, because wrestlers really do need an off season, but the card is really going to take a hit without him around.
