Wow, a Main Event on a major WWE show that excited people, got over wrestling and didnt involve someone over 35 or related to a McMahon? I should check out this Smackdown show more....
(And btw, when did Natalya Neinhart become sneaky hot? She's gotta "I'd be a good bang" vibe to her)

(edited by DirtyMikeSeaver on 22.8.09 0844)) Kevin Kelly: "Mr. Austin, would you like to comment on Wade Keller's Take that endorsing the XFL hurts your anti-authority character?"
Steve Austin: "Oh shit, he actually said that? I thought the boys in the back were ribbing me!"
Kelly: "No, he really said that. Did they tell you the part about you sitting in the stands, looking all skeptical?"
Austin: "AHAHAHAHAHAHA. Yeah... oh man that was too much."
I really like the booking of the main event. It sets up Matt as Punk's next opponent after he gets the belt back and lets Matt carry the Hardy torch. I'm pretty confident they wouldn't have had Matt pin Punk if it was all just a swerve to turn Matt back.
Heartwarmed by the ever-growing friendship between your boys Cryme Tyme, Jesse, and Eve.
Punk is reminding me more and more of Bret Hart as a heel in 1997. His self-righteous promos and his wearing pink and black coupled with his leading the Hart Dynasty in the main event really pushed that comparison for me.
Matt's apology was a bit slight considering (to list his sins once more) he burned down Jeff's house, killed his dog, rigged his pyro to blow Jeff up, and attempted vehicular homicide on Jeff and his girl. Jeff is a forgiving man to a fault. But let us never speak of Hardy vs. Hardy again.
The Great Khali's Bollywood music, which I love, is really weird to hear when he's charging into the ring on a pissed off babyface run in.
Can anyone get a screen cap of that little girl's face at ringside when Mike Knox went to pick up the ringside stairs? The camera even did a comedy zoom in on her. Hilarious.
I enjoyed Big Show in the first tag match. He came in to work over a weakened JTG and did a nice ground-n-pound move: a stretch while slapping him in the sternum. That's just mean. Also, he effortlessly clocked Rey after the 619 on Jericho and kept on walking.

What a great main event. Morrison is the perfect guy to have in hot tag/melee action. Matt looked a little out of shape but overall not too rusty. I just really really hate his tights.
The opening segment ending pretty cool too with Hardy hitting the twist of fate as the ladder fell at the same time. It hit the ropes but was still cool - only cooler if it would have went all the way to the floor. But I don't think it was planned.
Was this the first week that Punk actually used the "I'm straight edge, which means I'm better than you" line? I think so. He was again great on the mic, but for that matter so was Jeff. Both got their points across.
The main event was good, with all parties doing their thing.
The other six man was maybe evne better. Big Show was great as the guy that just dishes out punishment. The interactions between Cryme Tyme and Jericho/Show have been good, and I never thought I would look forward to their match this much. Ziggler getting the sneaky moral victory over Rey was a nice touch.
The women's match was too short. Well obviously as they didn't even really do tags. I liked the surfboard into the almost-dragonsleeper stretch that Natalya did.
Still the only thing I can do without is Kane & Khali, though Kane's promo wasn't bad.
I have completely changed my opinion of CM Punk - or perhaps I just like him as a heel better, this is the first time I've seen him as a heel so I don't know. But the Punk-Hardy feud has been fantastic and Punk is molding a great character. I totally agree with the Punk-is-1997-Bret-Hart sentiment.
I just hope they can keep him this interesting after he moves past Jeff Hardy. This feud between these two almost writes itself and was the perfect feud for Punk to pull off this beautiful heel turn, but I don't know what he can do next that will be as interesting. Matt Hardy doesn't really do it for me, and even that will really just be a continuation of the same feud.
I don't really know the latest on Jeff Hardy's status, but I hope he comes back, if he does in fact even go away. I would love to see Punk put him out of action at Summerslam and Hardy to make a return for revenge at the Rumble or even Mania. But that's a long way off. Regardless, this is by far the most interested I've ever been in either wrestler.
I also love Jericho and Big Show as a duo. Big Show was a letdown as the mystery partner, but I like the tandem now.
This is the third time in as many weeks that someone got disqualified for ignoring the referee's call for a break while beating their opponent down in the corner. Knox tonight, Swagger (against MVP) on Monday and Big Show vs Kofi a couple of weeks ago (with Jericho's brilliant line of "What'd he get disqualified for, dominating the match?")
I wonder if it's leading up to something or if it's just the newly preferred method of not having a real finish?
It was done to emphasize something, but it sure wasn't her vanity. I doubt if any WWE performer would go to such lengths to emphasize a character. "Hey Molly, would you mind having some reverse liposuction surgery done on your ass?
