Boy, it seems a little early for Brock Lesner 'King of the Ring' winner, but I really don't see him losing. I was expecting Heyman to screw up and cost Brock the match advancing Buh Buh. I guess I'm a little bit shocked by his push. It seems like a lot in a short time. It's not written in stone that he is going to win this thing, but I have a bad feeling about this.
I didn't see tonight's show, my cable is out. But I received a show report a friend of mine on the phone - and I've read stuff all over the net.
It looks to me like Vince McMahon is ready to give Brock a MONSTER push. I think he's frantically hitting the reset button and is prepared to do something drastic, and make that new star tomorrow.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Brock Lesnar as World Heavyweight Champion by SummerSlam.
Great. Put the World Title on someone who's yet to utter a complete sentence on WWF television.
Isn't “lack of promo skills” the same basic argument that people use to say Chris Benoit should be World Champion? Difference is that Benoit, when motivated, can cut promos. Brock evidently can't, because I can only assume that if he could cut a promo, he would have by now (the way they're pushing him and all).
I don't think pushing the reset button and getting desperate is in order. Desperation causes people to do some really, really stupid things, and would probably make the situation even worse. How about... GASP!... Vince deciding to give a push to someone who's been in the WWF for a little while but has yet to really take the next step into superstardom? Someone who's immensely over with the fans, but at the same time doesn't mind making other people look good?
You know, someone like Rob Van Dam?
“What's so great about crack?” “Uh, uh, it enhances your personality.” “Yes, but what if you're an asshole?”
WTF? He just beat BuhBuh Ray to qualify for the KotR.. It's not like he is getting a title shot already!
Being the King would be a good way to have him become a bigger and more interesting character.
And that he hasn't done a promo yet doesn't mean he cannot do it. I once read he did some good ones in OVW? I might be wrong..
Nobody implied Brock is going to be getting the title any time soon..or that Benoit will not get it ever.
A month ago it was said that Lesnar was dead and buried already because he trashed the Hardyz and Stasiak two weeks in a row, now he is where he should be (according to those posts) and Vince is being stupid?
Oh, and desperation makes people say silly things and read into everything that they can read into.
"...And I use that to fuck them some place fairly uncomfortable." "What, like the back of a volkswagen ?" -Mallrats
A BROCK! push? Bring it on!! You don't necessarily need to cut promos, reference the Undertaker w/ Paul Bearer. With Heyman as his mouthpiece, he can be well taken care of in that department.
Look, the man is a believeable monster! He's huge, built like the proverbial brick s**thouse, and can *gasp* WRESTLE. He's no Angle when it comes to moveset, but so far I think he's got more moves that Trips and Hogaine combined.
But foremost, he is a MUCH-NEEDED breath of fresh air. Push RVD, Guererro, Benoit, Storm, Christian, Booker, and Angle as well! I am so tired of seeing Hogan, Austin, Trips, and Undertaker do the title swap every month. The only problem is that of the aforementioned up-and-comers, the only person that has the kind of main-event feel at this point is RVD. Well, he has the IC title, and is really helping pump up the mid-card. If you do need to create a new star ASAP, Brock has the look for it to be believeable, and has yet to be tainted by some of the bad booking decisions made in the past by WWE.
I don't see a chance in hell Brock wins. Firstly, he was supposed to face Austin tonight, so he probably wasn't supposed to be IN the tourney. That leads me to believe he's going to get the oh so popular Big Show, Benoit, Kane monster DQ push! He's going to dismantle his opponent in a way that he gets DQed. I've said that from the start.
Lesnar's OVW promos? Don't hold your breath. I live in Dayton and watch the show when I can, and to say the least I think I heard Brock speak once. And it was something uttered, that no one really understood (kind of like a Hardy promo).
Personally, I'm STILL rooting for Booker or Jericho. They're the only two in the tourney who can carry the title and actually DO something with it (like cut promos, one acting heel and using it to draw boos, the other to just be hilarious, dammit). But, I still also like RVD's chances and he could be the only guy on the RAW side who could go over Lesnar.
Triumph: I kid, I kid. I think Triple H is a great Wrestler! For-Ah! (pause looks around for crowd reaction) Me-Ah! (pause looks around for crowd reaction) To-Ah! Poop-Ah! ON!
I'm pretty sure that after the NWO turn on Booker last night, he's going to get pushed to the KOTR crown. Remember, the man's been here about a year now and he *still* doesn't have a singles PPV win.
My personal preference, of course, is for GOD~! to romp to the crown and use it as a stepping stone to get the title back that he never should have lost, but since the Clique's back in power, they'll convince Vince to squander his talents yet again...
CRZ NOTABLE QUOTABLE OF THE MONTH: KANE: Triple H...tonight, I will burn the flesh from your body! MICHAEL COLE: OH MY GOD. KANE THREATENING TRIPLE H, SAYING HE'S GONNA BURN THE FLESH FROM HIS BODY! CRZ: Umm, I heard it the FIRST time! -- WWF Smackdown, 9/9/99
Brock's got a great look, but will he be that impressive when stacked up against Kane and the Big Show?? It seems like they've made an effort to keep him away from the really big guys....
Plus, the guy just isn't very entertaining. Give me a smaller guy who can talk and work any day. And Heyman needs to tell him that doing the Lex Luger pec-wiggle isn't gonna get him over.
Yes boys and girls, you heard me right...We need Russo. Admit it, you're ready for it...I'm ready for it...Mark Henry is ready for it....It'll be MONEY BAY BEE!!!
10. CONTINUITY!!
