LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- After 12 hours of denials, FOX has made it official: "Do Not Disturb" isn't coming back.

The news marks the first cancellation of the 2008-09 season.

As reported last night, FOX will drop the show's October 1 broadcast in favor of an additional first-run episode of "'Til Death." The network will presumably do the same on October 8, after which presidential debate and MLB coverage will fill its Wednesday lineup through the end of the month.

The show's sixth episode was filmed on Tuesday, meaning three installments will sit on the shelf.

For its three broadcasts, "Disturb" averaged a 1.7 adults 18-49 rating - 15% shy of its lead-in "'Til Death" (2.0).

So far this week there have only been 3 shows on the Big 4 networks below a 2.0 adults rating. 'Til Death, Do Not Disturb, and ABC's game show Opportunity Knocks. Opportunity Knocks is reality TV, so it's cheaper to air, but that's still really bad ratings.

I was able to stomach perhaps ten minutes of this "comedy". It was truly horrid.

Gary Unmarried on the other hand, was laugh out loud funny at moments. (so, if you are looking to Tivo something funny, I'd recommend it)

That's disappointing, although I blame it on the fact that the show has (apparently) dropped Kat Foster and Eddie Kaye Thomas from the cast ...

Parquet Wishes and Leprechaun Dreams

The most hilarious thing about Tommy Dreamer is that everyone else in WWE, from Shelton Benjamin to dudes who haven't even debuted yet, has a T-shirt available. WWE doesn't even bother printing up a T-shirt for Tommy Dreamer, A MAN WHOSE GIMMICK IS WEARING A T-SHIRT WHILE WRESTLING. And why is that? Because not a god damn person would ever pay money for a Tommy Dreamer shirt. Not even his own mother. As a result he usually ends up wearing a shirt that says "WRESTLEMANIA 24" or "JUDGEMENT DAY." I think it's time for Tommy Dreamer to just print up a T-shirt that says "UPCOMING PAY PER VIEW"

"Worst Week" also has promise. It's odd, the CBS Monday Night lineup has gone from shit-central to a pretty decent batch of shows (if you find something to do for the half-hour Charlie Sheen is stinking the screen up). I wonder if that means I'm getting old?

You wanted the best, you got... Out of Context Quote of the Week.

Hunh... one of my friends was apparently an extra on the final aired episode. So I guess that was the show's purpose: last long enough for her to get on TV.

IMDB.com begs to differ.

However, TV Week reported today that the show was merely being preempted next week and that 20th Century Fox TV was insisting that it had not been notified of any cancellation.

I've never remembered to watch it but I hoped it's not canceled only because I'm a fan of Niecy and I was happy to hear she got to be on a network series.
