He was had one of the nebulous Special Assistant to the GM positions. Could've been doing a lot, could've just been getting paid enough to keep on staff.
It just seems to me that the problems in the organization are a lot higher than the coaching staff. Is this the last desperate act for Ricciardi before he gets tossed himself?
I will miss Gibbons' accent in his interviews, but not his over-wearing of that Jays' pullover, which he made look like a smock.
I always wondered why no one was hiring Gaston. I can't think of any coach, in any sport, with two world championships on his resume who went as long without a job as he did.

“How is it that I am a good actor? What I do is I... pretend to be the person I’m portraying. You’re confused. Case in point: in Lord of the Rings, Peter Jackson comes to me and says ‘I would like you to be Gandalf the Wizard,’ and I said ‘You are aware that I am not really a wizard?’ and Peter Jackson said ‘I would like you to use your acting skills to portray a wizard for the duration of the show.’ So I said ‘Okay’ and then I said to myself ‘Mmm.. How do I do that?’ And this is what I did: I imagined that I was a wizard, and then I pretended, and acted, in that way on the stage. How did I know what to say? The words were written down for me in a script. How did I know where to stand? People told me where to stand." -- Sir Ian McKellen, Extras
Depends on 3, maybe 4 factors: 1: The pitcher, and his sinking stuff 2: The runner on first 3: Next batter Obviously, I'd try to get him to throw the ball down, go for two. Worst-case, he walks in a run.
