I know it is days old I just came across this on wwe.com. It sounds like the WWE is ready to talk/allowing some access to their wellness procedures.Thoughts?

I was going to say that I thought complaining about the "sensational and often speculative" media coverage was self-serving, but this is really a big public relations exercise when you get down to it. I think the E is actually in fairly decent position for hearings, with the existing Wellness Program (for which I'm sure there will be improvements by the hearing date). Of course Vince has the talent much more under his thumb than unionized sports leagues, so he should look better, right?
Looks to me that they are trying to steer the discussion toward drug testing as much as possible, and I doubt the lawmakers will have the time or desire to delve into the unique "lifestyle" issues involved here. One point though, I believe the request was for all company testing information, and this letter clearly is trying to establish the post-Eddie Wellness Program as the dawn of WWE drug testing. Which I guess is true if you parse the request to not include WWF testing. As I would think that explaining the long gap between the post-Zahorian testing era and last year could be a can of worms.
WWE didn't help themselves by its knee-jerk "it couldn't have been steroids!" immediate reaction to the Benoit tragedy. (Jeez, I still can't fully believe Chris is gone). Going on the defensive is a very understandable, very human thing to do, but it's seldom the right thing to do. I don't know if that strategic decision was made by Vince, Linda or the Board of Directors in general, but if that was the strategy advised by their lawyers, the lawyers did them a disservice.
Vince then books the angle for television in which he's being investigated by everyone for everything, including the number of children he sired at the tender age of ten years old. So now WWE wants to finally cooperate with the government? They're truly an upstanding pillar of the community.
