And here's the point when you or one of your friends is predictable as ever and bans me for speaking back against the oh-holy-master. Clearly, we all come here to worship some fat fuck from Minnesota who thinks running a low-populated messageboard is something to puff out his chest about. History has shown you can't take what you dish out without silencing someone first and/or deleting their response to your bullshit because you can't take the embarrassment.

So watch me give two shits. I might be gone, but your problems aren't. Good luck with that oh mighty webmaster and decider.
You know, we have a lot of fun here, but there's nothing funny about farewell posts.

It's truly a marvel that you somehow lasted here five years despite a complete lack of the simplest grasp of what I or this board is about.

Here's a point-by-point because it's 0230 and I'm still awake because it's too hot to sleep (or maybe I'M too hot to sleep):

My brilliance IS well-established! I'm sure later we'll look back at this very post as a shining example!

My self-confidence is probably healthy, yes.

A LOT of people post a LOT of moronic crap on here, but it really takes a prolonged burst of stupid in a relatively short period of time to actually coax me into saying something. (Although... IMs and private messages from other people saying "JESUS chill is stupid," for example, sometimes force me to tip my hand a little sooner. I should note that in the above example, no one is actually referring to ME as "JESUS" but more on the worship below)

I defy anybody to find ONE example of where I've banned somebody for the sole reason that they talked back to me. IT DOESN'T HAPPEN. My brother has been known to pull the trigger on a banning a little quicker than me, but even he won't go just because somebody called me fat.

By the way, I'm not THAT fat. I'm also, technically, not "from Minnesota" although the house is definitely in this state. Did I mention my wife and I were buying a house? So, hopefully we're doing okay there.

Now, deleting your past week's worth of posts COULD be banworthy. It's really lame to try to "hide all the evidence." So I resurrected all those posts. If you were to try to delete them again, for example, I probably WOULD ban you for that.

I readily admit that most of the people who come back here in some way enjoy the contributions that I make to this board. There's no secret that this is MY place. I'm the dominant whatever and as a result, I tend to drive most of the discussions around here. There are obvious exceptions. But my point is that despite any/all of that, I don't demand and I don't believe there exists any actual WORSHIP of me. (If there is, please keep it to yourself - that shit is just embarrassing. And...I can't take the embarrassment.)

Finally, if THIS is the extent of my "problems"...well, it's no wonder I sleep like a baby. EXCEPT WHEN IT'S STILL 80 FUCKEN DEGREES OUTSIDE *AND* INSIDE.

Anyone who wants to take up chill's defense is free to do so and will absolutely not get banned no matter how much of a brain-dead slug they come off as. I PROMISE. (But I may make fun of you later!)

I went back and read chill's last 20 posts, which wasn't alot relative to his total post count, but it was over a week's worth of samples. I have to be honest and say that I have no earthly idea where your personal attack came from, Zed. The posts were nothing special, but they weren't horrible either. He didn't attack anybody. He wasn't overly contentious. He didn't really seem to be posting more than some others. Most importantly, his posts didn't seem any dumber than anybody else's. (I'm not calling anyone dumb...)

Most of the time when you gut somebody like a fish, I can see it coming days ahead because the person in question is asking for it by making an ass of themselves in some manner. Maybe I missed something, but I didn't see this one coming. I'm not surprised that chill was hurt by your comment, though his reaction seemed like it had been building up for a long time which did surprise me.

I don't post very much, but I enjoy this community alot. In fact, *this* is the only community that I have stuck with longer than two or three weeks. I *do* like you, CRZ, and your posts are a part of why I come here, but I thought ya waz harshin' a little bit.

Meh. Just my two bits...

I thought it was odd that even though he went back and "deleted all of the evidence", a few posts got skipped over during the mass deletion. Maybe he thought those were ok to leave alone but the others weren't? Just something that stood out for me.

Also, does the posting timestamp show in a different timezone than the deleting/resurrecting timestamp? Your (CRZ's) post above came in at 00:44 but all of chill's deleting went down at around 01:14, AFTER you mentioned his evidence destroying.

Eh. I don't see it, but I haven't been around that much recently. Sometimes CRZ and I disagree.

Good lord people, it's just a message board Fark.com does a better job of it, anyway. If you aren't having a good time at our place, please don't stick around to tell everyone about it. I don't want anyone to go, but I'd rather have that then people start insulting everyone.

For the record: I'm fat and live in Oregon, if you want to go there. I don't see the point in it, but there you go.

{ Wildly incorrect speculation deleted - CRZ }

Now, I've had times where I felt like my posts were deleted unfairly. I've come to realize that it's not worth fighting over. It's CRZ's board. If he deletes something you wrote, you have two constructive options:
1. Leave the board, and find somewhere else where they'll let you say what you want. Of course, if they let you say what you want, then they probably will let other people say what they want, and that means wading through a lot of crap.
2. Stop posting in the manner that is causing you to get deleted. If you can't figure out how to do that, then just accept that your posts might get deleted. If you're not ok with that, see #1.

RE: Banning. As I say, I've had my share of posts deleted. However, at no point have I been afraid of being banned. The only people I've seen get banned are the ones who do what they've been told directly (via IM or publicly) not to do.

I've been around a long time and I cannot come up with one example of CRZ banning someone that didn't have it coming. In fact, he seems to be pretty slow on the banning trigger finger sometimes, letting folks hang themselves in the court of public opinion.

Is chill in fact banned? I don't see that he is.

What is Chill smoking?? Low populated message board? The board was going off the wall monday night.

I want to credit CRZ and Guru for the effort on this site. I guess you will get a bad apple every once in a while. I would not let it bother you.

Does anyone else check into a hotel and - instead of the Bible, check the phone book? For Jenny? Or maybe just dial (area code) 867-5309?

And think before you post? That's the fun part! Thinking you know what you can POST, without thinking "goddamn, this post sucks"! but still posting!!

Both of these Zims are busy buying houses against my own advice. I think. Guru, did I say buy to you? I know CRZ ain't been right for two weeks, he's probably scared straight. Someone said that Pittsburgh is the place to live. F'N Shapiro must live in Baltimore! Just kidding!

I guess my point is - get barked at, don't bite. It happens and you are still loved. Unless you make an ass out of youself in print. Then yer elders say " that boy shouldn't post"

JJD said it right - and still owes me money

There is a whole thread about a guy I never noticed. I don't have him rated very highly so he must have made an impression on me at some point.

Sometimes I wonder if my magical insight even get noticed. It should. I am great. One day I hope to have a thread here dedicated to my greatness. I'm a sure sixth ballot Hall of Famer!

Honestly, I didn't see a lot of his posts until CRZ made the comment about his replies being stupid since the "Sopranos" finale. Out of curiosity I went back and checked them, but it didn't really stick out to me, since he always had those stretches where he'd post really stupid stuff. In fact, compared to posts he's done in the past his last run didn't seem any more stupid than, say, my posts.

This isn't trying to defend what CRZ did (by the way - as far as I can tell he didn't do anything other than OMG MAKE FUN OF SOMEONE) or kiss his ass, only that in my entire time here chill has always stuck out to me as one of those guys who constantly posts stuff that has me shaking my head. There's something to be said for a history of annoying stuff that, yes, someone may overreact to - but there's a reason that something that may be perceived as minuscule to someone not familiar with the history behind it could elicit such a strong reaction.

I also don't want anyone to take this as me beating up on the poor guy after he's gone, either. I'm sure he's a nice guy. I know plenty of nice guys who post dumb stuff on the internet.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, you know, it IS just a message board. I became the mod of a regional group on MySpace about two plus years ago. It probably doesn't even get a quarter of the traffic that this board does (there's over 5,000 members but nowhere near that number posts on even a semi-regular basis), but in that time I've developed a lot more...I don't want to say respect, but perhaps understanding for the mods here.

My mantra when I get PMs about stupid shit is always "it's just a message board, move on with your life." I had one guy in particular message me about six times after he got banned (for posting porn), saying how sorry he was and then getting angry at the fact that I would ban him and saying it was "unfair" and I went on a "power trip," and it's anything but. It's just...you know, a message board. There's stuff that mods do and don't want on there, and it's at their discretion. Do you know how many message boards there are on the internet, and specifically ones that discuss pro wrestling? I think at last count there were like a gajillion.

Why do people care so much? Seriously, I really dig this board, but if I got banned or had posts deleted, I wouldn't be screaming to the mountaintops about dictatorial regimes and over-inflated egos.

Idunno. I just never see the point in getting your panties in a bunch over having posts deleted or getting banned from a message board, no matter how long you've been here. I also never understood why many people have this burning desire to post a "farewell post". But hey, I'm a social retard, so what do I know?

They did this on CBC Radio (Definitely Not the Opera) Sook-Yin Lee's show

For film nerds - she is the main actress in Shortbus

Which caused a stir because the CBC got all indignant that you could see the naked bits of one of their radio stars at which point the country practically in unison said "You hired someone that we would WANT to see the naked bits of and put her on the RADIO. What kind of idiots are you? Oh right you're funded with our tax dollars and run by civil servants. Never mind."

For comic nerds - she is Chester Brown's ex and appears in Yummy Fur and I think Joe Matt's Peepshow as the cute Asian chick who has more common sense than Chester Brown, Joe Matt and Seth all rolled up into one. (Not admittedly that hard to do.)

For wrestling nerds...

I got nothing.

Anyway, on DNTO, they found a Jenny (in California) with the 867-5309 number. At least they got her answering machine, but no one had called back before the show aired.
